The Baazi Super Sundays (BSS) promotion involves three tournaments on PokerBaazi each Sunday, where a total of INR 25 lakh GTD is up for grabs. The top players wait for this Sunday grind and aim to be among the top prizes in the three different events – BSS PLO INR 5 lakh GTD, BSS Monster 6-Max INR 5 lakh GTD and BSS SuperStack INR 15 lakh GTD.
We reported news of Sid Khanna aka ‘CornerPocket’ winning the BSS PLO Event for INR 1.75 lakh yesterday, and we now have an update on the famous SuperStack tournament on PokerBaazi, which has a buy-in of INR 5,500 and takes place each Sunday at 7pm.
It was a long grind of 7 hours and 13 minutes before we could have a winner. A total of 328 entries (206 players + 122 re-entries) registered to the tournament, which passed the guarantee and the revised prize pool was now of INR 16.4 lakh. Shipping the tournament and claiming the largest share of this prize pool at the end of the night was none other than Raman Gujral aka ‘ifryu’.
Gujral is a known payer in the Indian poker circuit, popularly known as the ‘Grandfather of Indian Poker.’ The player has also represented the Kolkata Kings franchise at the Poker Sports League and last night, he added another title to his list of poker achievements.
Here, he beat a strong field to take away the top prize of INR 3,19,800, while also beating some top pros on the final table, including Sahil Chutani aka ‘bluffme19’ and Vivek Rughani aka ‘ishoveonyou’, who finished 6th and 5th respectively. In heads-up, Gujral defeated ‘identity’, who settled for the runner-up prize of INR 2,37,800.
