Raman Gujral wins another BSS SuperStack title

They call him the ‘Grandfather of Indian Poker’, and not for no reason. He was introduced to the game of poker around 2 decades ago and has had a career of over 15 years now, has Raman Gujral. Of course, there was a brief hiatus in between, but here he is again, doing what he does best.

A couple of months back, we reported the news of Raman Gujral aka ‘ifryu’ as he is known on PokerBaazi winning their BSS SuperStack tournament. That tournament is an INR 15 lakh GTD one which takes place every Sunday on their platform and Gujral was skilled enough to take down another BSS SuperStack title last night.

The tournament kicked off at 7pm on PokerBaazi and ended at 2:04am this morning, after a good 7-hour grind. 372 entries meant that the guarantee was crushed as it so often is in this tournament. The new prize pool created was INR 18.6 lakh and this was shared among the top 39 places with a minimum cash prize of INR 13,950.

Now as usual, plenty of pros were in the mix like Jaydeep Dawer (38th), Anurag Srivastava (31st), Pranav Bang (27th), Abhishek Rathod (25th), Rubin Labroo (18th), Goonjan Mall (17th), and Sahil Agarwal (9th). Here’s when the big prizes began and one more known pro to cash out big was Sriharsha Doddapaneni aka ‘Ivey2’, who has been having a good run this month. He finished 5th here for INR 1,06,950, after shipping the same tournament last week.

Pranav Khandalkar hit the rail in third place after yet another good run, playing under the name ‘pranavpoker’. He collected INR 1,95,300 in prize money. After he got busted, heads-up began between Gujral and ‘hoodlincs’, with the former soon emerging victorious.

Gujral took away the booming top prize of INR 3,58,050, while hoodlincs was rewarded with INR 2,65,050 for finishing second. Gujral took down his second SuperStack title in the last two months and he’ll be one to watch out for every time this tournament is played now on PokerBaazi.
