Mondays are usually a real headache for most people in India. The weekend is over, and you have to look at a whole new week of work, school, college or whatever applies to you. However, it’s a different scenario for poker players in the country, where no differentiation is made between Mondays and other days of the week.
On PokerBaazi, a relatively new tournament called The Bout INR 10 lakh GTD takes place at 8pm each week and this is turning out to be quite a popular tournament to begin each week. With a buy-in of INR 4,400, many top pros register to this tournament every Monday and yesterday too, 284 entries (140 players + 144 re-entries) took part.
This inflated the prize pool to INR 11.36 lakh, easily passing the promised guarantee, and eventually being shared among the top 23 players with a min-cash of INR 17,040. The grind lasted for 6 hours and 32 minutes last night before the two finalists agreed on an offline deal to chop the tournament.
It was a tough field and some known names finished in the money including Ankit Jajodia aka ‘akj290’, who finished 6th for INR 56,800 just a day after he shipped the SSS SuperStack tournament for a prize of INR 4.56 lakh. Finishing in 3rd place for Aniket Waghmare aka ‘Anteman’ who was awarded INR 1,33,480 for this run.
Reaching heads-up of last night’s Bout tournament on PokerBaazi was ‘pokerbrat7’ and Rajesh Kumar Shukla aka ‘intervntion’ and these two players decided on an offline deal to chop the tournament, regardless of the online result. The official result however, was that of pokerbrat7 winning and taking away the top prize of INR 2,38,560 while Shukla won INR 1,76,080 for finishing second.
While pokerbrat7 preferred staying anonymous, Rajesh Shuka is a well-known pro in the industry, with plenty of wins in the online space. Very recently, he also won the SSS Leaderboard on Spartan, playing under the name ‘Narammasala’. Featured tournaments take place daily on PokerBaazi and you can get updates of all these tournaments here on GutshotMagazine.com.
