After a long and tough grind, we finally have a winner in Indian poker pro, Deepankur Gupta. The title holder entered the heads-up session with a 2:1 chip lead and dominated throughout the last leg of the tournament. Gupta ultimately took down the marquee title and made his fans and followers proud. The Indian pro is the first player from the country to register a victory in this maiden live poker series hosted by Royal Poker Club.

In the deciding hand of the VIPT Hanoi 2024 Vietnam Open, both players were all-in. The Indian was still ahead in chip counts but credit must be given to the Vietnamese player who managed to close much of the chip stack gap. 

Preflop action had the Vietnam national 3-bet to 1.8 Million chips; Gupta thought for a few seconds and pushed all his chips in the middle. Sang made the call with 13 Million chips against his rival’s 15 Million. 

It was an AKo (Gupta) vs A9s (Sang) hand. The board presented 4s Kc Qc 7h Ad. It was game over for the Vietnamese player and the Indian emerged victorious after a rigorous day at work.

The much awaited heads-up of the VIPT Hanoi 2024 Vietnam Open is now in motion between Deepankur Gupta (66 BB) and LSP Tien Sang (26 BB). Gupta is leading and he will surely look to keep the fire going on his opponent. 

Battle For The Vietnam Open Title Begins

A total of 117 survivors qualified via the four starting day flights. The total number of entries registered for this much awaited tourney were 936. Day 2 of this event is the final battle leading up to ultimate glory. 

The surviving entries are vying for the top spot and a shiny new VIPT trophy. When it comes to Indians making Day 2, we have Laksh Pal Singh, Deepankur Gupta, Jasven Saigal, Himanshu Chhikara, and Amit Kaushik among others. Will an Indian player ship this title? Only time will tell.

IOPC Jan 2021 Main Event winner Laksh Pal Singh made Day 2 of the Vietnam Open. The poker pro qualified via flight Day 1C with a stack of 197,000. Other Indian players who participated in this event were Shivam Shukla and Himanshu Chhikara. 

Talking about the Vietnam Open, the much awaited tournament had four starting day flights with Day 1D (turbo) being the final one. Day 2 will be played tomorrow with the survivors from all the flights battling for the title and hefty prize money. 

Record Entries Crush Initial Guarantee

The multi-flight tournament with VND 4.5 Billion GTD has now surpassed its initial prize pool. All thanks to the record entries in flight Day 1C (242+ entries) the event saw its prize pool getting inflated impressively. With one final flight to be hosted today, all the players will be flexing their muscles to qualify ahead and battle it out for the title and trophy.

44 Survive From Day 1A And Day 1B

At the end of Day 4 of the VIPT Hanoi 2024 series, we have 44 survivors from the Day 1A and Day 1B of the Vietnam Open event. The total number of entries from the above two starting day flights stand at 354. When it comes to Indian players qualifiying for Day 2 of the Vietnam Open, we have Amit Kaushik (485,000), Harsh Bubna (107,000), and Jasven Saigal (171,000). Day 1B Concludes

The second flight of the Vietnam Open ended with 144 total entries being registered for the qualifier. 18 players have bagged and tagged for Day 2. Indian pros like Amit Kaushik, Jasven Saigal and Harsh Bubna also made Day 2 via this starting flight.  

26 Find A Bag From Day 1A

The first starting flight of the much awaited Vietnam Open concluded with 26 players making Day 2. Total number of entries in this flight stood at 210. With Day 1B still in motion, the competition will only get steamier. 23rd April will have two more starting day flights being held, one at 11 AM and another at 5 PM local time.

Looks like it’s a full house at the Bolton Poker Room with multiple tourneys running. The live felts are ablaze with players making some killer moves across tables. Day 1B flight of the highly anticipated Vietnam Open is now in motion with more and more players joining the action. With VND 4.5 Billion GTD, this event is one of the most lucrative tournaments in the schedule. In all, the Vietnam Open event has four starting day flights. With Day 1C and 1D scheduled for 23rd April 2024.

Important Announcement 

VIPT announced a change in timing for the High Roller Megastack tournament (Event #12), scheduled today for 12 noon. The Facebook post shared by the live poker brand states that the High Roller Megastack event will be held at 2 PM local time. 

Entries Are Pouring In

The much awaited Vietnam Open with its VND 4.5 Billion GTD kick-started amid high energy and players are joining this tournament with great enthusiasm. So far 95+ entries have been registered for this tourney with more players expected to participate.
