After dominating most of the heads-up session against South Korea’s Gyeong Byeong Lee, Sam Chen-Yu Hung has successfully added the coveted USOP Taiwan Main Event 2024 title to his credit.

The Taiwanese player hit a straight on the flop in the final hand when his rival went all-in with his remaining 10 Million chips. Hung’s cards did the trick for him while Lee’s flush draw did not improve. The winner takes home a pay cheque of TWD 5,383,700 while the runner-up adds TWD 3,774,000. 

USOP Taiwan ME Day 2: Final Table Is Set

The highly anticipated final table of the USOP Taiwan Main Event is set with nine players. The chip lead heading into the final table is Korean player Gyeongbyeong Lee (13,410,000). The second highest stack (8,720,000) belongs to Taiwanese player Chi Jen Chen. The final table will play down to a winner on Day 3 which will be played on 15th January 2024 at 12: 15 local time. A total of 140 across four starting flights had qualified for Day 2 (1 double qualifier was paid). The players are looking at a fierce battle ahead as the game will boil down to the final table and ultimately crown a winner.  

Among the survivors, the biggest stacks at the start of Day 2  belonged to Jun Li, Tsun Yin Ng, Guan Hao Tan, and King Chun Leung. The overall chip leader heading into Day was Tan with a stack of 11,12,000. He is followed by Yin Ng from Hong Kong with a stack of 1,101,000. Which players will make the final table? The total number of entries at this flight stood at 202 and overall the Main Event tournament registered over a 1,000 entries which was pretty impressive. Day 2 of the Main Event will see 139 players lock horns for further survival as the winning prize is set at TWD 5,383,700.

USOP Taiwan 2024 Main Event Day 1 flight kicked off amid high energy. The players looked super eager to participate as this one is the most important event of the series. The Main Event of the USOP Taiwan 2023 is expected to see a very competitive field as players will look to add this coveted title to their name.

USOP has broken many records with their number of entries and prize pools generated, whether the Taiwan Main Event follows suit or not, only time will tell. This TWD 15,000,000 GTD event comes with a buy-in of TWD 33,000 and has four starting flights and will have its Day 2 on 14th January where all the survivors will battle it out to advance further into the game. 

USOP Taiwan Main Event 2024

The highly anticipated Main Event of the USOP Taiwan 2024 series, will kick-start on 11th January 2024 at 12 noon local time with flight Day 1A at Asia Poker Arena, Taipei. There are four starting flights that players can qualify from and make Day 2 in this marquee tournament. The last flight (turbo format) will be held on Saturday 13th January at 6 PM (local time). The levels during Day 1 tournaments will last for 40 minutes (25 minutes for turbo flight) while the Day 2 and Day 3 levels will last for 60 minutes.

The starting stack in this event is 40,000 and the buy-in stands at TWD 33,000 for a guaranteed prize pool of a whopping TWD 15,000,000. The Main Event allows for multiple re-entries and players can take the best stack forward to Day 2. This event from the 2023 edition was nailed by Edwin Dela Cruz  for a prize money worth TWD 3,060,000.
