India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 continued to see some high-octane action even on a Monday. While the high-value tournaments kept coming, it was interesting to see many underdogs emerge victorious. It also looks like the competition for the night was intense as every tourney ended in a showdown. For more insights into the big winners of the night, read on.
The IOPC event with a buy-in of ₹440 was a massive hit with over 887 total entries. As the first event of the day, it was a hit as the final guarantee surpassed the original one which stood at ₹3.54 Lakh. Players who made it to the top 71 places were paid a min-cash of ₹1,348.
From this, the top spot was taken by mystery player ‘internetkid’ who took home ₹68,476 in prize money. Mystery player ‘internetkid’ defeated player Himanshu Kataria aka ‘YeHaathHumkoDeThakur’ in a heads up battle and Kataria took the runner up position with ₹43,143 in his pockets.
With a buy-in of ₹1,650, this tourney welcomed a total of 415 entries into its fold. Among the sea of players, the top 31 entries made the money and received a min-cash of ₹5,720. The largest chunk of the prize pool was won by online reg Pranav Khandalkar aka ‘pranavpoker’ after he defeated ‘bobdebuilder.’ Khandalkar pocketed ₹1,37,475 in prize money while ‘bobdebuilder’ went home with ₹92,560.
The action raged on with the IOPC #53 event which surpassed its initial guarantee and recorded the final prize pool as ₹5,92,900. With a ₹770 buy-in, the tourney welcomed 847 total entries. However, only the top 71 players made the money and took home a min-cash of ₹2,253.
Coming on top was player ‘Tolltax’ who walked away with a paycheque of ₹1,09,644 and another IOPC title. The runner-up position was claimed by ‘Rahul4444s’ who pocketed ₹76,882 in prize money.
With 1,162 total entries, the Monday Prime tournament was a huge success. The event had a buy-in of ₹2,200 and even surpassed its advertised guarantee. In the end, only the top 103 players got a bit of the prize pool. The min-cash stood at ₹6,274.
Rajneesh Thakur aka ‘samkap’ found himself in the winning position after he defeated Rajesh Shukla aka ‘ChivasRegal.’ Thakur added a massive ₹4,40,165 to his bankroll and Shukla pocketed ₹2,69,351 in winnings.
Other players who managed to finish in the money (ITM) were Siddarth Singhvi (14th, ₹22,780), Alok Birewar (18th, ₹17,430), Rohan Bhasin (50th, ₹8,598), and Aniket Waghmare (89th, ₹6,739). Bollywood actor and Gutshot’s June Emag cover boy, Siddhanth Kapoor finished in 43rd position for ₹8,598. Kapoor also finished ITM in IOPC #50. While IOPC reg Ankit Bajaj who had two re-entries in the event busted at the 98th spot for ₹6,274. Poker Bootcamp India coach Abhishek Goindi and Adda52 game ambassador Kunal Patni busted at the116th and 163rd spot, respectively, for no money. While IOPC commentator Kanchan Sharma also didn;t make it and busted at the 167th position.
The Monday Spotlight event had a total of 190 entries that were fighting for the title spot. The ₹3,300 buy-in tournament ended with the top 27 players getting paid a min-cash of ₹6,000. Mystery player ‘TheRealG’ was the event’s big winner with ₹1,32,900 in prize money. Prashanth Sekar aka ‘Anya Chalotra’ was the runner-up. Sekar had a payday of ₹89,700.
Players who made it in the money were poker coach Abhishek Goindi (9th, ₹13,440) and FTS 2.0 Challenger winner Rohan Bhasin (15th, ₹9,000). While others like Vikranth Varma (33rd), Sanket Arora (36th), Siddharth Karia (39th), Siddarth Singhvi (51st), Anirban Das (55th), Bhanu Prakash (56th), Kunal Patni (100th), Sahil Mahboobani (101st), Ankit Bajaj (112th), Manish Lakhotia (130th), and Siddhanth Kapoor (136th) did not make the cut.
The day concluded with the All Rounder Monster Stack tournament. The initial guarantee was surpassed by a thin margin and the final prize pool stood at ₹11,94,000. A total of 597 entries participated in this tourney. Players who found themselves in the top 55 places were paid a min-cash of ₹5,850.
Anuj Yadav aka ‘tittooTauji’ added another IOPC title to his belt as he clinched the title spot. Yadav cashed an impressive sum of ₹2,31,636. ‘Madmoney007’ was the runner-up for ₹1,46,862.
