IOPC Day 7: Goindi, Mehta, Zeeshan Among Others Clinch Top Titles


The highly-anticipated India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 is going full blast with poker players putting their best foot forward. Day 7 of the tournament series had several winners including Abhishek Goindi who is consistently shipping tournaments right from the beginning. This is just the gist of Day 7, keep reading to know more.  

IOPC #37 – ₹4.50 Lakh GTD

The first tournament of Day 7 was a ₹550 buy-in event. The tournament was shipped by Tanmay Benara aka ‘PlusEv’ who cashed ₹79,157 in prize money. The event had a total of 951 entries and the top 79 players were paid a min-cash of ₹1,616. The advertised guarantee was surpassed and the final prize pool stood at ₹4,75,500.

IOPC #38 – 6.50 Lakh GTD

The second tournament of the day was a deal between Vasudev Masur aka ‘Aurelius7’ and Achintya Acharya aka ‘Achu1406.’ Masur received a pay cheque of ₹94,534. The ₹1,100 buy-in tournament had 620 entries in total. The top 55 players were paid a min-cash of ₹3,185.

IOPC #39 – Monster Stack – ₹6 Lakh GTD

Poker powerhouse Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’ shipped the IOPC #39 tournament. The event had 811 entries in total and this poker coach traversed to the top to clinch the winning title. He cashed ₹1,40,870 in prize money in this ₹990 buy-in event. Goindi previously shipped the IOPC #2 Sunday Prime event and received a pay cheque of ₹8,18,874.  

The top 71 players in this tournament were paid a min-cash of ₹2,773. The advertised prize pool was ₹6 Lakh but it was surpassed and a new prize pool of ₹7,29,900 was formed.

IOPC #40 – ₹Saturday Prime – ₹20 Lakh GTD

The Saturday Prime was a ₹3,300 buy-in tournament. The event had an advertised guarantee of ₹20 Lakh but it was crushed and a new prize pool of ₹23,79,000 was formed. This event was shipped by Nitesh Katiyar aka ‘KATIYAR11’ who cashed an impressive sum of ₹4,16,882 in prize money. 

The tournament had 793 entries in total and the top 79 players were paid a min-cash of ₹8,088.  Well-known players who made it in the money in this event were Aniket Waghmare (3rd, ₹2,05,069), Ankit Bajaj with two bullets (24th, ₹14,511), Sahil Mahoboobani (41st, ₹9,753), Siddarth Singhvi (74, ₹8,088), Shardul Parthsarathi (79th, ₹8,088) among others. 

Players who did not make it in the money were Siddhanth Kapoor (81st), Ratul Steves (89th), World Series Of Poker bracelet winner Kartik Ved (90th), Ghanshyam Tripathi fired six bullets (104th), Anirban Das (115th), Vinayak Bajaj (130th), Kunal Patni (132nd), Nitin Arora (138th), Anant Purohit (151st), Siddhanth Kripalani (155th), Gaurav Sood (158th) among others.

IOPC #41 – Saturday Spotlight – ₹14 Lakh GTD

Saturday Spotlight had 739 entries in total. The initial guarantee was surpassed by a thin margin and the final prize pool stood at ₹14,78,000. Online reg Mohd Zeeshan aka ‘Barrel_57’ shipped this tournament for ₹2,85,845. The top 63 players in this  ₹2,200 buy-in event were paid a min-cash of ₹6,429. 

Players who made it in the money in this event were Abhijeet Kumar (27th, ₹10,715), Mohit Mehta (37th, ₹7,759), Anirban Das (38th, 7,759), Bhanu Prakash (49th, ₹6,651), Gaurav Sood (52nd, ₹6,651), Ankit Bajaj (56th, ₹6,429) among others. Notable grinders who could not make it in the money were Kunal Patni (94th), Anant Purohit fired five bullets (127th), Nitin Arora (129th), Sahil Mahboobani (136th), Siddhanth Kapoor (167th), Shardul Parthasarathi (170th), Mastermind and Millionaire Legends winner Aniket Waghamre (200th), Anant Purohit (241st), Siddhanth Kripalani (244th) among others.

  •         Buy-In: ₹2,200
  •         Places paid: 63
  •         Min-Cash: ₹6,429

IOPC #42 – ₹9 Lakh GTD

The last tournament of Day 7 was shipped by poker pro Mohit Mehta aka ‘thejoker’ who fought hard for the top spot after firing two bulltes. Total entries stood at 568. Mehta added ₹1,75,410 to his bankroll. The runner up was Kunal Patni aka ‘NuttsTodayBluffTomo’ who received a pay cheque of ₹1,11,420. Anant Purohit was the second runner up in this event, who cashed ₹83,520.  

The top 47 players were paid a min-cash of ₹5,130 in this ₹1,650 buy-in event. Players who made it in the money were Bhanu Prakash (36th, 5,760), Abhishek Goindi (43rd, ₹5,130) among others. Grinders who could not make it in the money in this event were Shardul Parthasarathi (68th), Ankit Bajaj (91st), Nitin Arora with two bullets (108th), Aniket Waghmare (247th) among others.
