Four days into India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) January 2021 and the event is already breaking multiple records. Spartan Poker was pretty busy with three consecutive flights for the Millionaire United INR 1.5 Crore GTD tournament being held on the same day. While the much-awaited poker event continues with full vigour, here’s a full list of all the big winners.
The day kicked off with the third flight for The Millionaire United 1.5 Crore GTD which had a total of 288 entries. Leading the lot was Puneet Sama aka ‘DumbNBroke‘ with a finishing stack of 2,64,145 chips. The second highest chip stack of 1,67,585 belonged to player ‘McFly.’
The second tournament of the day was an absolute hit with 382 total entries for its buy-in of INR 2,200. The initial prize pool of 6.75 Lakhs was crushed which scaled up to a massive INR 7,64,000 and the top 31 players took home a min-cash of INR 6,723. But the winner for this tournament was Abhishek Jaiswal aka ‘allout1‘ who took home INR 1,61,586 in prize money. Jaiswal also won Spartan Poker‘s The Millionaire Main Event 1 Crore GTD back in October 2018 and took home INR 25 Lakhs in prize money.
The fan favourite Monster Stack with its 4.75 Lakhs GTD and an affordable buy-in of INR 770 witnessed a total of 844 entries in the tournament. It was a huge success as the final prize pool of INR 5,90,800 surpassed the promised guarantee of INR 4.75 Lakhs. The final flight for the Millionaire United 1.5 Crore GTD ended with Guruprasad Gupta aka ‘DONKAKING‘ heading the pool of entries as first chip leader with a final stack of 1,84,530 chips. PokerBaazi’s Moneymaker 4.0 in 2018 and July 2019 IOPC Sunday Super Stack 30 Lakh GTD are some of his notable wins. He was followed by Ujjwal Narwal aka ‘Paperboi‘ as the second chip leader with a stack of 1,74,921 chips.
With a buy-in of INR 5,500, the Sunday Superstack recorded a total of 991 entries out of which top 95 players went home with a min-cash of INR 14,750. The tournament ended with Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17’ emerging as the winner who took home INR 7,78,873. Sood is among the top poker players in the country and has clinched titles in several major tournaments like the ReCharge INR 12 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker in December 2019 and the Highroller 10 Lakh GTD on PokerStars India among others. Second place was taken by Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality‘ of Poker Bootcamp India with INR 7,64,126 in winnings. “It’s always special to be up against your first mentor, so it was a pretty sick experience,” Sood said in response to his battle with Goindi.
This tournament had 619 entries and with a buy-in of INR 3,300. The promised prize pool of INR 15 Lakhs was crushed and reached an impressive INR 18.57 Lakhs. Top 55 places were paid a min-cash INR 9,099. It was player Rahul Kumar aka ‘sttoned‘ that won the top spot with INR 3,60,258 and Anmol Agarwal aka ‘freak_weird0‘ who came in second with INR 2,28,411 in winnings. Kumar also shipped Spartan Poker’s ReCharge INR 10 Lakhs GTD held in January 2020 and has cashes in multiple tournaments.
This tournament was the highlight of the day. The final prize pool for this tournament reached INR 1,59,46,000. The highly anticipated tournament had the top 295 players paid with a min-cash of INR 14,351. The final table consisted of many known players of the poker community. But it was Day 1A chip leader Siddhanth Kripalani aka ‘PluRibu$‘ who bagged INR 26,70,955. Kripalani also won PokerBaazi‘s INR 2 Crore GTD Game Changer back in July 2020. Well-known player Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting‘ came in second and bagged INR 14,70,221.
Ending the day on a high note, this tournament crushed the promised prize pool of 6 Lakhs and scaled all the way up to INR 7,18,200. Siddharth Ojha aka ‘SidSparta21‘ defeated Ankur Aryan aka ‘showstopper89’ to clinch the top spot. Ojha took home INR 1,26,046 in prize money. When asked about his win, Ohja replied, “The win was satisfying as I just missed shipping the afternoon tourney and got busted by a draw in the Sunday SuperStack.”
