2020 SCOOP: Connor Drinan wins 5th title; Chouity wins PLO ME


It has been a roller coaster week for the online poker fanatics with some major tournament series to choose from. Yesterday on PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Connor Drinan playing under the username ‘blanconegro’ officially created history by winning his fifth tournament title in SCOOP-75-H: $10,300 PLO after a two hour heads-up with Jens Kyllonen aka ‘Jeans89’.

The entire tournament garnered a field of 159 entries who paid $10,300 buy-in. Ultimately, the advertised guarantee of $1.25 million was surpassed, collecting a prize pool of $1.59 million. The top 19 spots well-received a paycheck. Day 3 kicked off with Drinan leading the survivors with a massive stack of 12 million. As the day progressed, Joao Vierira aka ‘Naza114’ exited the table in the third place and heads-up got underway.

At first, Kyllonen was ahead with a 3:1 chip lead against Drinan. However, after multiple lead changes, the former failed to dominate Drinan and ended up in the second place while the champion took home an impressive $322,264 in prize money for his victory, besting the record of 4 titles by poker pro Shaun Deeb!

Event #75-M: $1,050 PLO 6-Max Main Event $750K GTD

With a buy-in of $1,050, event 75 of the series attracted a massive field of 1,112 entries that eventually led to the creation of $1.12 million in prize pool and the top 143 players secured a payout. Day 3 began with 18 hopefuls finally taking their seats. Soon after ‘Bagrovui’ dismissal in 3rd place, heads-up play began between ‘BomPang’ and Nicolas Chouity playing the username ‘niccc’. Ultimately, Chouity railed out ‘BomPang’ and quickly secured the first-place cash prize of $154,039!
