‘omgwonderwoman’ ships Godfather tournament on Adda52

When you think of some of the most popular tournaments or series in the Indian online poker space, the Godfather series is one you just cannot miss out on. Earlier this month, Adda52 launched the 5th edition of the Godfather series, where the winner of every series takes home a package trip to play poker at an international location.

Godfather 5.0 promises an INR 7 lakh package trip to play poker in the upcoming Aussie Millions series in Australia early next year. Yesterday was the third tournament of this series where each week’s winner takes away a prize amount from which INR 87,500 will be deducted towards the Aussie SnG Finale.

The INR 5,500 buy-in tournament kicked off last night at 8pm and it was well into today morning before a winner could be declared. A strong field meant that the guarantee was slightly beaten, and a new prize pool of INR 20.2 lakh was generated, from which, ‘omgwonderwoman’ took away the biggest prize.

The player won INR 5,25,200 in prize money, from which INR 87,500 will be deducted as a ticket to the Godfather Finale. A few weeks later, he will battle it out between some really good players to win a trip to Australia. He beat Vasudev Shrest aka ‘vasushrest’ in heads-up, who won INR 3,33,300 for finishing second. Incidentally, Shrest has also won the Godfather tournament in the past, shipping the tournament in January on Adda52. The top 27 players shared the prize pool for a min-cash of INR 12,120 and these two took away the top profits of the night.

The winner, omgwonderwoman, if he/she goes by the same name on Spartan, also finished second in the Destiny tournament the previous night. Clearly the player wasn’t happy missing out on the Europe SnG Finale on Spartan, so decided to win a ticket to the Aussie SnG Finale on Adda52.
