Whenever there’s a major online or live poker series that takes place, it’s the Player of the Series or the Leaderboard winner who takes away all glory. While one player wins the biggest tournament of the series and another wins a couple of small ones, the leaderboard winner is usually the won to have been the most consistent through the series, cashing in a number of tournaments.
Currently, India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) is underway on Spartan Poker and after 9 days of intense poker action, Neeraj Kumar aka ‘Jannat52’ is on top of the IOPC Leaderboard, which offers INR 30+ Lakh in prizes including a swanky new MG Hector car to the winner.
We’re past the halfway mark of the series and Kumar has managed to gain the lead on the IOPC Leaderboard with 5,910 points to his name. Interestingly, Kumar is yet to win a single IOPC title in this series and yet, he has such a massive lead over the others on the leaderboard, and that’s primarily because he has a very impressive 31 cashes in the 47 tournaments to be played so far.
The next best on the leaderboard race is Aman Parakh aka ‘KarmaPoker’ who has 2 single titles and was also one of 5 winners in the WTF tournament Event #30 where the top 5 players are declared winners. Parakh has 5,082 LDB points and a total of 16 cashes in the series so far.
The IOPC Leaderboard will award the top 10 finishers and the biggest test of skill in poker is in such leaderboards, where you have to be consistent right through a series, rather than just in one or two single events. Rounding up the top 3 at the moment is ‘Immortal killerr’ who also has 2 titles so far and a total of 4,785 leaderboard points.
The multi-flight Millionaire has begun while a number of other massive tournaments are yet to be played, so don’t be surprised if this Leaderboard looks completely different 4-5 days from now. Stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com for all updates on the same!
