Nikhil Agarwal Takes Down Adda52’s The Ballers For 7.2 Lakh


This Friday the poker action peaked as players flooded the virtual felts of poker platforms for another game night. While brands continued to host their staple marquee events, PokerStars continued to up the ante with its ongoing Winter Series. Prize pools of several events were crushed and pro players like Ashish Ahuja, Tanmay Benara walked away with smashing victories. Here’s a complete round-up of last night’s action.

The Elite – ₹30 Lakh GTD

The Elite tournament on Spartan Poker attracted a total of 373 players to its field. The feature tournament had a buy-in of ₹11,000 and managed to crush its advertised guarantee. The final prize pool generated was a whopping ₹37.3 Lakh. Players who found themselves in the top 31 positions were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹32,824.

Well-known player Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ grabbed the top title and had a payday of ₹6,09,004. Ahuja is one of the top online grinders with recent titles like Deltin Online Poker Tour (DOPT) PLO Special on Adda52, Trending Thursday on Spartan Poker, World Poker Tour (WPT) 3000, and WPT Gladiator on Adda52 to his name. The runner-up was Adda52’s Game Ambassador Kunal Patni aka ‘SoormaBhopali’ who walked away with ₹5,71,377 in prize money. Patni is a banker turned poker pro. He has shipped titles like PBC#6 Endeavour 40 Lakh GTD on PokerBaazi, India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 Saturday Spotlight on Spartan Poker, and The Summit on PokerBaazi.

The Ballers – ₹20 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s The Ballers drew in a total of 424 entries onto its online felts and had a buy-in of ₹7,500. The tournament proved to be a massive success with the final prize pool hitting ₹29,04,399. This crushed the initial guarantee of ₹20 Lakh. The top 43 places were paid and the min-cash was ₹15,974.

Player Nikhil Agarwal aka ‘nikhil234880’ shipped the tournament for a lucrative ₹7,20,291in prize money. This win is Agarwal first tournament title and also his largest online score. He previously finished 5th in Spartan Poker’s Mega Stack in 2019 for ₹1,09,473. The runner-up of The Baller’s event was Punya Behera aka ‘ShamalDas’ who took home ₹4,35,660 in winnings. Behera is a regular grinder; he also shipped The Mint on Adda52, The Elite on Spartan Poker, and The Weekly Highroller on PokerBaazi.

The Weekly Highroller – ₹12 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s Weekly Highroller is among the popular tournaments on the platform. The event had a total of 234 entries and a buy-in of ₹11,000. The event’s success was evident when its initial guarantee was crushed massively. The final prize pool stood at ₹23,40,000. The top 27 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹19,420.

Wednesday Round Up: Tanmay Benara Takes Home Destiny Title For 5.32 Lakh

In the title spot was online reg Tanmay Benara aka ‘truman’ who cashed ₹4,86,000. This win was Benara’s third title this year. Last week, he shipped Eliminator on PokerStars and The Elite on Spartan Poker. In the runner-up position was IOPC July 2021’s leaderboard champion Anuj Yadav aka ‘brockLesnar95.’ Yadav added ₹4,51,000 to his bankroll. This Super Highroller winner nailed multiple titles like Spartan Poker’s WCS The Big Deal, IOPC All Rounder, and IOPC Friday Prime.

The event crushed its initial guarantee and generated a final prize pool of ₹25,95,000. Players in the top 27 spots finished in the money and the min-cash paid was ₹29,579.

Kapil Arora aka ‘racemonk’ who added ₹5,24,214 to his bankroll. Arora is an online reg and has shipped titles like PBC#14 BSS Superstack on PokerBaazi, Godfather on Adda52, and The Elite on Spartan Poker. The runner-up was Anurag Srivastava aka ‘GutshotHaiBro’ who walked away with ₹3,91,134 in prize money. The IOPC January 2020 Millionaire Main Event winner also shipped titles like The Pride on PokerBaazi, INCOOP-72 Uppercut Mini and INCOOP-08 Bounty Builder on PokerStars.
