New Stop in Da Nang, Vietnam for Asian Poker Tour

The APT (Asian Poker Tour) is a company that hosts live poker tournaments and events throughout Asia, founded in 2006. They have stops across the Asian continent and the APT Philippines tournament series is underway as we type this. Recently, they decided to add yet another stop to their calendar – APT Vietnam Da Nang Championships 2018.

This year, APT had their kick-off event in Vietnam for the first time ever, only to add another Vietnam stop between 11th and 22nd July. Now, the Da Nang Championship will be the third APT stop in Vietnam this year, but the first to happen at Da Nang, as the other two were at Ho Chi Minh.

The venue for this tournament series is the Cocobay Beach Resort, Da Nang, Vietnam, and it is scheduled to be played between 3rd and 14th October 2018 (subject to regulatory approval). This first APT stop in Da Nang is a 12-day event, being promoted by an agreement between Win Poker club and Vietnam’s Bridge and Poker Association.

The Da Nang market has recently attracted the interest of several Macau junket investors, and we may see a boom in the poker industry in Da Nang in time to come, including more poker clubs and several more APT stops. APT General Manager, Lloyd Fontillas, Win Poker’s Vice President Haianh Tran and Chairman Tran Thanh Van made the announcement of the APT Da Nang stop on 25th March.

The Da Nang stop is currently scheduled as the last one before the APT Finale in Nov-Dec 2018, and will succeed stops scheduled at Philippines, Macau, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, and Philippines again. For now, the tentative dates have been released and the schedule for qualifiers and tournaments will be out in weeks to come.
