Netanel Amedi leads FT at WSOP Europe Mixed Event

Just a while back, we reported the news of Timur Margolin winning Event #5: Monster Stack at the ongoing 2018 World Series of Poker Europe. We also spoke about how 3 of the 5 gold bracelet winners in the series so far are Israeli players, and about the Israel dominance in the series.

Well, we’re not kidding when we bring to you news of another Israel poker player who has displayed good skills thus far, to end as chip leader on the Final Table of Event #6: €1,650 No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha Mixed Event. Players from seven different countries are in the final eight and Israel’s Netanel Amedi leads with a stack of 1,882,000 chips.

A total of 221 entries registered to this event which also saw Indian participation, but only one Indian managed to make the money. The top 37 players were paid out a minimum cash prize of €2,350 in this tournament and representing Team India was Bharath Janardhan who ended a good run by finishing 29th for €2,564 (~INR 2.16 lakh).

Other well-known players to bust their stacks during Day 2 included 4-time bracelet winner Max Pescatori (35th), 6-time bracelet winner Chris Ferguson (23rd) and 1-time bracelet winner Anthony Zinno (15th). Now, the final eight survivors will resume later today to play for the top prize of €86,956 (~INR 73.46 lakh).

Netanel Amedi is currently the chip leader and he’ll try to press on the advantage to win Israel its 4th bracelet of the series. However, there are some tough competitors out there on the Final Table, including 4-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb who currently has a stack of 1,247,000. Amedi has career live earnings of $144k, while Deeb’s winnings have crossed $6 million, so the latter clearly has more experience.

Current chip counts:

  1. Netanel Amedi – 1,882,000
  2. Norbert Szecsi – 1,792,000
  3. Shaun Deeb – 1,247,000
  4. Vittorio Castro – 697,000
  5. Van Tiep Nguyen – 546,000
  6. Julien Sitbon – 423,000
  7. Samuel Albeck – 379,000
  8. Jaroslav Peter – 271,000

Many more tournaments are still to be played at the WSOP Europe series, so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com for all the latest updates.
