MPL Poker’s India Poker Festival Concludes On A High Note


The highly anticipated Indian Poker Festival (IPF) May/June 2022 has finally concluded on MPL Poker after 11 days of spectacular action and intense drama on the virtual felts. The poker festival which started on 26th May 2022 drew its curtains on 5th June with the conclusion of the Main Event of the series.

The series featured several tournaments and a leaderboard worth ₹10 Lakh. Multi-table tournaments (MTTs) including marquee events worth ₹20 Lakh each were also up for grabs at IPF on MPL Poker. The coveted Main Event had a guarantee of a massive ₹1 Crore, with eight starting flights leading to Day 2. The series welcomed a total of 2,844 unique players and 23,736 entries participating over the course of 11 days. That’s not all, 46,559 entries were seen grinding on the cash tables of MPL Poker during the India Poker Festival May/June 2022.

And the rewards these players received are truly unbelievable. 404 players won rewards worth more than ₹10,000, 144 players won an amount bigger than ₹50,000, while 84 players grabbed cash rewards worth more than ₹1,00,000. Three talented players even won above ₹10,00,000 with their exceptional poker skills.

Let’s have a look at what went down at the IPF May/June 2022. 

IPF #1

Pavan Bellamkonda

The first event of the series had a prize pool of ₹30 Lakh for a buy-in of ₹4,400. The event kick-started on 26th May 2022 at 8 PM, saw 657 entries battling it out to take home the biggest piece of the prize pool. Finally, it was Pavan Bellamkonda, who emerged victorious and grabbed the top prize of ₹5,85,000. Jafar Ali was the runner-up while Om Prakash was the second runner-up at this event. Ali cashed ₹3,75,000 and Prakash pocketed ₹2,40,000.

IPF #2

Ashwin Vijay

The second event took place on 27th May 2022 at 8 PM and went on till 4:51 AM the next day. As 364 entries and 125 re-entries locked horns, the top 55 places made it in the money. This ₹4,400 buy-in event with a ₹20 Lakh guarantee was nailed by popular online grinder Ashwin Vijay, who added ₹4,45,000 to his bankroll. The runner-up was Ashutosh Balodhi, who had a payday of ₹3,10,000. Rajiv Kumar turned the second runner-up as he cashed ₹1,95,000.

IPF #3

IPF #3 kick-started on 28th May 2022 at 8 PM and concluded at 5.45 AM with Ram Bai nailing the event for ₹3,15,000. Sunita Gupta finished second for ₹2,10,000, while Neha Kamath finished third for ₹1,35,000. This ₹2,500 buy-in event promised a guarantee of ₹15 Lakh. 511 entries and 297 re-entries battled it out and the top 80 places made it in the money.

IPF #4

This was a ₹4,400 buy-in event which had a player field of 458 entries and 225 re-entries, battling it out for the prize pool of ₹25 Lakh. After a little over nine hours of play, it was Pushpa Khadelwal who emerged victorious and took home ₹5,25,000 as the top prize. Rajiv Kumar finished at the runner-up spot for ₹3,50,000, while Manju Devi finished third for ₹2,25,000. The top 80 players cashed at this event.

IPF #5 Mini Main Event

As the name suggests this event was a mini version of the Main Event with four starting flights featuring a buy-in of ₹5,500 each. The flights were held between 27th to 29th May 2022, with the final day happening on 29th May at 10 PM. Day 2 finally came to an end at 3.50 AM. With 766 entries across the four starting flights, only 90 survivors made it to Day 2. Out of these, top 85 places enjoyed a portion of the ₹50 Lakh prize pool. Sreekanth K N shipped the Mini Main Event and cashed ₹10 Lakh for his first place finish. Nangare Vinayak Baban was the runner-up who took home ₹6,05,000 for his second-place finish, while Atrij Singhal pocketed ₹3,80,000 for his second runner-up finish.

IPF #6

Myron Pereira

This event which started on 30th May 2022 at 8 PM, concluded at 5.22 AM. 577 entries (562 re-entries) battled it out with all their might. With a buy-in of ₹2,500 and a guarantee of ₹20 Lakh, this event paid out the top 95 places. Popular grinder Myron Pereira shipped this event and added ₹4,20,000 to his bankroll. Ankit Sinha topped the table and cashed ₹2,70,000 for his second-place finish, while Atrij Singhal took a pay cheque of ₹1,70,000.

IPF #7

IPF #7 took place on 31st May 2022 between 8 PM to 5.17 AM. 494 entries (343 re-entries) participated in this ₹3,850 buy-in event. The top 80 places took home a portion of the ₹20 Lakh prize pool. Akhiesh Kumar Meena clinched the top spot and walked away with ₹4,20,000. Khirod Munda, the runner-up took home ₹2,80,000, while Rohit Mishra had a payday of ₹1,80,000 for his second runner-up finish.

IPF #8

Tony Thomas

IPF #8 saw participation from 356 entries with 100 re-entries who paid a buy-in of ₹5,500 to win a share of the ₹25 Lakh prize pool. The event started on 1st June at 8 PM and finally concluded at 4.51 AM the next day. The top 55 places were paid and Tony Thomas grabbed the lion’s share of ₹5,56,250 for his first-place finish. The runner-up and second runner-up, Rajkumar Gahlot and Manju Devi pocketed ₹3,87,500 and ₹2,43,750 respectively.

IPF #9

Arsh Grover

Arsh Grover

IPF #9 had a guarantee of₹20 Lakh for a buy-in of ₹4,400. Out of the 492 entries and 359 re-entries at this event, the top 80 places finished in the money. The event started at 8 PM on 2nd June and came to an end at 6.05 AM, with poker pro Arsh Grover shipping the event for ₹4,20,000. At the runner-up spot, Rambhavan Yadav pocketed ₹2,80,000, and Manish Kumar Barman took home ₹1,80,000 for his second runner-up finish.

IPF #10

Rajarshi Biswas

This ₹11,000 buy-in event had a prize pool of ₹30 Lakh and a player field of 271 entries and 167 re-entries. The top 45 places finished in the money. The tournament went on from 8 PM on 3rd June to 5.59 AM the next morning and finally had a winner in the form of Rajarshi Biswas who claimed the top spot for ₹7,20,000. The runner-up, Shubham Kumar, had a payday of ₹4,80,000, while R Venkat Sai finished at the second runner-up spot for ₹3,09,000.

IPF #11

Mithun Mahesh

IPF #11 on 4th June saw mystery players nailing the top three spots. The event started at 9 PM on 4th June and went on till 6 AM. Out of the 547 entries and 211 re-entries, the top 95 places finished in the money as pro player Mithun Mahesh shipped the event for ₹3,15,000. Vasudev Shrest finished second at this event for ₹2,02,500, while popular grinder Anuj Yadav finished at the second runner-up spot for ₹1,27,500.

IPF #12

This event, which started on 5th June 2022 at 9 PM, continued until 6.47 AM. With a buy-in of ₹3,300 and a prize pool of ₹20 Lakh, this event paid out the top 80 places out of the 446 entries and 248 re-entries. The event was shipped by Bharat Kumar Wadhwani, who cashed ₹4,20,000 as the top prize. Sunil Rawat finished at the runner-up spot and cashed ₹2,80,000. Mystery player ‘RockLee’ ended up taking the second runner-up spot and pocketed ₹1,80,000 in prize money.

IPF #13 Main Event

The coveted Main Event (ME) featured eight starting flights. 190 survivors made it to Day 2, which was held on 5th June 2022 at 10 PM.  The top 185 players got a portion of the ₹1 Crore prize pool. The event ended at 4.15 AM with poker pro Ashish Ahuja nailing the ME for a massive ₹17,00,000. The runner-up was Indu Kumari who cashed ₹11,00,000 and Rahul Kumar pocketed ₹6,50,000 at the second runner-up spot.

IPF Leaderboard
