Monday Roundup: Hidden Gems Shine On Online Poker Felts


Poker players made sure to keep the Monday blues at bay by putting up thrilling and power-packed performances on display. While the final tables did include some notable players and poker pros, three of the biggest tournaments of the night were ruled by three unknown hidden gems, giving us a dose of some Monday motivation. All the players put their poker skills at work to win big. 

Here’s what Monday night looked like:

The Big Deal – ₹33 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker’s The Big Deal on Monday night was nothing less than a jackpot on offer. The tournament had an advertised guarantee of ₹33 Lakh, which finally scaled up to ₹34,40,000. The top 17 places were paid a min-cash of ₹54,008.

The five-hour long tournament attracted a total of 123 entries and was won by Rajeev Kumar aka ‘AthenaVolt,’ who added ₹8,65,504 to his bankroll. ‘Omglukbox’ walked away with ₹5,84,800 at the runner-up position. The third spot was claimed by ‘virgincow’ who cashed ₹3,80,120. Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘PeterPunter’ was also a part of the final table. Sanghvi, a regular Spartan Poker player, who has final-tabelled most of Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire tournaments, finished fourth at The Big Deal with  ₹3,14,760. 

The tournament also featured poker pros like Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’ (₹2,00,208) at the sixth position. Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17,’ who featured on the cover of Gutshot’s January 2021 e-magazine finished seventh adding ₹1,53,080 to his bankroll. Aryan Singh aka ‘bob_marley’ who made headlines during IOPC January 2021 took home the highest five-figure prize amount of ₹86,000 at the ninth spot. Shardul Parthasarathi aka ‘Faucet Failure’(₹70,520) and Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘Shippament’(₹56,760) also cashed at the 11th and 14th positions respectively. Sanket Arora aka ‘blackcod’ nailed the sixth spot for ₹38,530.

DOPT 6 Max Monday Feature – ₹15 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s DOPT 6 Max Monday Feature wasn’t a silent affair either. The tournament had 472 total entries. The top 49 places were paid a min-cash of ₹8,250.

Vanshsaraogi60’ defeated the 472 entries field to win the tournament for a pay-cheque of ₹3,67,500. The runner-up ‘SingleA’ walked away with ₹2,17,500, while IOPC winner Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘BoomTilt23’ cashed 1,50,000 at the third position. Sameer Tavanandi aka ‘killersam’ grabbed the last six-figure deal of ₹1,12,500 from the table at number four. The final table also saw WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved aka ‘TheInternetKid’ leaving the table at seventh spot with ₹41,250 and Surbhit Grover aka ‘grovahova’ walk away with ₹15,000 at the 14th spot.

ReCharge – ₹9.5 Lakh GTD

This online poker room was filled with action packed games last night. With an advertised guarantee of ₹9.5 Lakh. Spartan Poker‘s ReCharge tourney saw its final prize pool scaling up to ₹11.29  Lakh. The tournament attracted 329 entries and top 47 places got a min-cash of ₹6,418.

Peter Nazareth aka ‘Sigmund’ topped the table and cashed ₹2,19,457. IOPC 2020 Millionaire Main Event winner, Anurag Srivastava aka ‘TheDarkKnightReturns’ had a payday of ₹1,39,399 at the runner-up position, while ‘Majestic’ took home ₹2,19,457 at the third spot. Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17,’ had big bucks on his mind. He cashed ₹22,520 at the tournament by finishing ninth. This pro was also a part of The Big Deal on Spartan Poker, 7th spot. He was seen at two big tourneys on the same day.

The Big Show – ₹7.5 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s The Big Show tournament did not fail to impress. The final prize pool scaled up to an impressive sum of ₹9.18 Lakh. The top 45 places got a min-cash of  ₹5,138. The tournament witnessed 367 entries slogging it out for the top spot.

The Big Show was nailed by Advait Rajguru aka ‘Ronaldinho8,’ who cashed ₹1.93 Lakh. Aditya Kulkarni aka ‘adit11’ was the runner-up who added ₹1.35 Lakh to his bankroll. Kulkarni is a consistent PokerBaazi player and is a regular member at the final table of The Big Show tourney. The third spot was claimed by Ram Kakkar aka ‘mowgumotu’ who grabbed the highest five-figure deal of the night (₹86,700). Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid,’ who has been consistently smashing the online poker felts finished 10th and won a prize money of ₹14,038.
