Monday Round Up: Iyer, Samuel and ‘zomunk’ Clinched Winning Titles


You may experience Monday blues but poker players surely know how to make it to the top on any day of the week. Indian poker platforms had several high as well as medium guarantees on offer yesterday. Let’s do a quick recap of the action that unfolded yesterday on the poker felts.

The Big Deal – ₹33 Lakh GTD

This Big Deal tournament on Spartan Poker was indeed a big deal as it had 168 entries in total and the top 17 players were paid a min-cash of ₹52,752. This ₹22,000 buy-in tournament was shipped by poker pro Abhinav Iyer aka ‘hightr0ller’ who cashed ₹7,43,652. Iyer was followed by Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘Shippament.’ Wadhawan took a pay cheque of ₹6,72,923.

The advertised guarantee of this tournament was surpassed by a slim margin and the final prize pool of ₹33,60,000 was formed.

This tournament had 601 entries in total and the top 63 players were paid a min-cash of ₹4,649. The advertised guarantee of this ₹2,000 buy-in tournament was crushed and a bigger prize pool of ₹10,93,824 was formed.
