In the missing report filed in July, Brad Booth was last seen leaving the Grand Sierra Resort in a 2002 Silver Toyota Tacoma truck NV plates 601PMR. Brad told his roommate he was going camping however he took minimal items that would not sustain him for more than a day or two. For someone who loves to sit at the table. Booth hasn’t been spotted since his trip or has made contact with family or friends.
Following a tweet by Adam Schwartz of the DAT Poker Podcast, this news ignited a search amongst people of the poker community as followers and friends began retweeting to gather any information regarding Booth. For over two months, neither Booth or his car was seen anywhere.
The worries about Booth’s recent disappearance were fuelled by occasional remarks such as this from 2011 when at his lowest point, Booth had stated “I’ve had a few days and a few nights, when I’ve felt, not suicidal, but that I was at the end of the rope here.”
The Canadian claimed to have played poker every day for 14 years. In that time, Booth was one of the most successful high limit cash game players of the last decade. He was once referred to as a ‘poker savant’ by Phil Laak. He played against the likes of Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Patrik Antonius in the biggest games, appearing on the televised show ‘High Stakes Poker’.
During his stay at Bellagio around 10 years ago, he claims that he only went outside a few times in his four month stay. His lifestyle quickly shifted when he lost everything and fell in debt to many poker players in 2012. Doug Polk claimed that Booth blew $28,000 gambling, which he had transferred to Booth in return for cash on the Locker poker site and didn’t receive any cash.
We are glad that Booth is safe and we look forward to see the poker pro back at the felts. For more updates on poker news from around the world, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com
