Michael Soyza’s Hero Call Stuns Rival At Triton Poker Series!

Michael Soyza recently won his second Triton Poker Series title last night after he took down Event 8 $75K 8-Handed event at the ongoing Triton Poker Series North Cyprus 2023 edition. And his winning hand was an absolute show-stopper.

Soyza beat four-time Triton Poker champion Mikita Badziakouski and took home $1,735,000 as the top prize and a new Shamballa Jewels bracelet. In the final hand of the event, the final two players generated a pot of 2,650,000 preflop. The flop opened to T 8 J , and Soyza, who flopped a pair with his Ten checked.

Michael Soyza’s Hero Call

Badziakouski, who held 7 6 got a gutshot straight draw on the flop and bet 800,000 in anticipation of a 9. Soyza tanked for a while before finally making the call. The turn brought 8 , and Soyza checked again, this time with a two-pairs. Badziakouski immediately bet 2,100,000 this time in an attempt to bluff. Soyza again tanked and made the call. The pot was now 8,450,000.

The river of 2h did not complete the Belarus player’s straight. However, he tried to apply pressure by shoving his 4,100,000 all-in after Soyza checked. Soyza smiled in disbelief, tanked for a while, and finally dramatically made the hero call.

Badziakouski stood up, threw his cards in the middle of the table, and looked at Soyza’s cards. Soyza’s hero call won him the prestigious title, while Badziakouski narrowly missed his fifth Triton Poker title and cashed $1,200,000.

Suvarna was leading the survivors at the end of Day 1 of the event, with the highest stack of 1,495,000. He ran deep at the event and managed to make it in the money.
