MGM Resorts International is an American entertainment and hospitality company that runs and operates hotels and resorts in Las Vegas, Mississippi, New Jersey, and other regions. They are famous for running casino resorts, the most famous of which include the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and The Mirage.
Recently, MGM Resorts has signed a new agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). This multi-year partnership will see MGM becoming the official gaming partner of both the NBA and WNBA leagues.
The NBA is one of USA’s biggest professional sports league and this is MGM’s first collaboration with a sports league, while it’s also NBA’s first partnership with a sports betting operator. “As the landscape for sports betting in the US continues to evolve at a rapid pace, MGM Resorts is a proven gaming leader for us to work with on this groundbreaking partnership,” said Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner.
MGM CEO and Chairman, Jim Murren, also commented on the partnership, saying, “The NBA has always been an innovator at the forefront of sports evolution and MGM Resorts is thrilled to partner with the league to revolutionize sports betting in the United States.” He added, “Integrating the NBA’s assets and having official NBA data showcased across the MGM Resorts platforms will provide us with a distinct advantage and instill more confidence in knowing that our data is directly from the NBA.”
As per the partnership, MGM Resorts will use NBA and WNBA data for branding across their digital and land-based sports betting offerings in USA. In return, MGM Resorts will be promoted across NBA platforms such as NBA TV, NBA.com, the NBA App and their social media platforms.
