Methods to Crack Your Poker Opponents Behaviour Online

Poker is a world full of tells, tendencies and bluffs. Knowing your opponent is as important as knowing your own moves and strategy. For this, you need to pay keen attention to the minute details that your opponents give away while playing. But what happens when you play online? You have no idea what your opponent looks like, so knowing tells and tendencies is a farfetched shot. It becomes even more difficult to figure patterns when your opponents cannot be seen. So, let’s talk about a few tips on how to read the strategy of the online poker opponents & win the poker game:

Long pause and then raise – This generally indicates that your opponent has a strong hand but is pretending that the situation is otherwise. If you see a player take long pauses between his raise calls beware, it could be a bluff to get more money out of you.

Instant bet or raise – This indicates that your poker opponent has a very strong hand. If he makes an instant bet or raise, it means that he has already pressed the raise or bet button before his chance even came which means that your opponent is very sure of his cards. Folding is the best option for you here.

Instant check – An instant check is a classic tell of a weak hand. The person is just waiting to see the cards on the table and will most probably fold. You will never see a raise from a player who checks instantly.

Quick call – Shows a mediocre hand. The player has too weak a hand to raise but too good a hand to fold. He is simply trying to wait out the competition and intimidate anyone who has made an instant check into folding.

Large All-ins – Large all-ins are surely a weak hand or very strong hand. If he has a weak hand, he is trying to bully everyone else at the table into folding early. Or, he can really have a very strong hand and is hoping that someone is stupid enough to call his all-in.

Chatting patterns – Most good poker players do not use the chat. Although, if a quiet player starts chatting suddenly, then that could be an indication that he has a strong hand.

Are there any other tells that a player needs to pay attention to while playing online? If yes, then feel free to point them out in the comments section. Get latest updates on Poker right in your inbox – subscribe to GutshotMagazine.com now!
