Martin Kabrhel Cheated During The WSOP 2023 250K High Roller? Justin Bonomo Thinks So

Cheating allegations were levelled against Martin Kabrhel, the player who finished third at the $250K High Roller event which was eventually nailed by Chris Brewer. But from where did these cheating allegations emerge? It was high stakes cash game pro Andrew Robl who dropped a bomb post on his Twitter handle which led to a furore among players, many of whom backed Robl’s allegations that the Czech player was allegedly marking cards in the High Roller game. 

16-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth also tweeted stating that he was not comfortable having Kabrhel on his table. Many other well-known players like Dan Smith and Haralabos Voulgaris, and Chance Kornuth have backed Robl’s allegations and a call for ban on Kabrhel.

Andrew Robl vs Martin Kabrhel

Robl did not hold back in his tweet and went all out to bash Kabrhel. He stated, “How is Martin Kabrhel not banned from the WSOP? He makes any tournament no fun for anyone and on top of it I’ve seen him mark cards in every tournament I’ve ever played with him.” 

Robl replied on the same tweeted with a picture of the Czech player during the game and wrote, “Reading his card markings or is he just using his X-Ray vision superpower?”

There was one more player who had some solid thoughts on an incident shared by one of the users in the comment section. It is none other than All Time Money List number one. Justin Bonomo.

This Fairfax-born player called Martin Kabrhel (leaning and seeing other players’ cards) antics fucking insane and shared a tip on how to half protect yourself from cheaters. 

Bonomo wrote, “It’s fucking insane that the players or staff would let this happen. To anyone reading this, you can at least half protect yourself by putting one card on top of the other.”

Another interesting comment Bonomo (who was also accused of cheating) made was about WSOP not doing enough for players to prevent cheating. In a later comment, Bonomo added, “To anyone reading this, you can at least half protect yourself by putting one card on top of the other A) the cameras are very low res and don’t see much And B) going to cameras means extra work / possibly extra controversy, and the staff / organization will do anything to prevent those 2 things from occurring.” (sic)

But ‘ZeeJustin’ did not stop there. He also highlighted an incident from 2017 to further cement the fact that Kabrhel has done some unacceptable things while playing and got away with just warnings. 

He wrote, “Just to add to the discussion: During the 2017 SHRB, the players were all on edge because of likely cheating by Martin. He was warned by the floor approximately a dozen times, to not stand behind players when they were looking at their hole cards. As per a news report, the Czech player has threatened legal action against Robl. But, going by the allegations and instances brought to the public domain, it looks like Kabrhel should be more worried about getting banned from playing if these allegations are proved correct.
