Maria Ho is a professional poker player and television personality. Both into a traditional Chinese family, on 6th March 1983, she became known as one of the best female poker players in the world.
Ho has reached three final tables at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and has over 35 in money finishes. She also has five money finishes and one final table appearance at the World Poker Tour (WPT). Ho has won more than $2 Million in poker tournament winnings.
Fluent in Mandarin, she moved from Taiwan to the United States at the age of four and an early childhood like any normal child with her family. While in college, she took a keen interest in poker and started playing the card game to kill time at this stage. Ho started to enjoy the competitive spirit and psychology involved in poker, which saw her starting to play the small cash games at Indian casinos.

After graduating in 2005 from UCSD with a degree in communication and a minor in law, Ho moved from playing low-limit cash games to high-stakes poker to high-stakes cash games and grew her bankroll to a point where she could be a professional poker player.
Ho’s first major tournament win came at the WSOP in 2007, where she claimed 38th rank in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold’em to pocket $237.865. She fared well at the biggest stage in live poker once again in 2014, finishing at the 77th spot in the WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship to pocket $85,812.
It is also worth noting that Maria Ho is the only person who holds the title of Last Woman Standing at four events, including the 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event. The Taiwanese-American poker player is also an inductee to the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
One of the richest female poker players from Taiwan, Maria Ho net worth is roughly estimated to be $5 Million as of 2024. It is worth noting that apart from poker winnings, Maria Ho net worth has also increased citing her work as the host of multiple shows.
Back in 2009, she also competed on The Amazing Race 15, a reality television series alongside Tiffany Michelle. Ho was also on American Idol and as well as a panelist on Anderson Cooper 360. She was involved with the Amazon eSports Mobile Masters Invitational series as well as the Battle of Malta. Ho was also named as a team manager in the inaugural season of the Global Poker League.
She was also working as a break desk commentator on ESPN’s coverage of the WSOP Main Event for two years between 2017-2019. Ho, who is currently on Game of Gold by Poker After Dark also serves as a co-host for The Final Table, CBS Sports television series.
