Nick Schulman, an American professional poker player, began his journey in poker during his teenage years and quickly transitioned to online play. Unable to participate in live card rooms until he turned 21, Schulman dedicated his time to honing his skills online. He climbed the ranks by studying and improving his game. Once he reached legal age, he started playing in live games at underground clubs in New York City.
Schulman’s debut in live poker tournaments was a significant one, marking the start of many outright victories. In November 2005, he entered the $10,200 World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals in Mashantucket and emerged victorious, taking home the $2,167,500 top prize. Two years later, Schulman nearly repeated his success at the same tournament, finishing as runner-up to Michael Vela and earning $864,652.

After several close calls at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Schulman secured his first bracelet in 2009 by winning the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw event, along with $279,751 in prize money. From 2010 onward, Schulman consistently cashed in high-stakes live events with buy-ins of $10,000 and above. A notable achievement was his fourth-place finish in the $100,000 Super High Roller at the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which added $400,000 to his bankroll.
In 2012, Schulman claimed his second WSOP bracelet by winning the same $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 event he had shipped three years ago. In 2015, he narrowly missed another bracelet in the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 event, losing heads-up to Phil Galfond.
