Jason Koon Claims His 6th Triton Poker Title At 2023 Triton Poker SHRS North Cyprus

Poker pro Jason Koon has taken down his sixth Triton Poker title by shipping Event 2 $20K NLH 7-Handed event at the ongoing Triton Poker SHRS North Cyprus 2023. The pro took down the title for a top prize of $663,000. 

With this win, he has become the only player to have six Triton Poker titles to his name. The tournament, which took place at the luxurious Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in North Cyprus, featured a buy-in of $250,000 and attracted a total of 43 players.

The competition was fierce, with many of the world’s best players grinding, including Dan Smith, Bryn Kenney, and Stephen Chidwick. However, Koon’s impressive track record in high-stakes tournaments, including his previous five Triton Poker titles, made him a clear favourite to win. He remained near the top of the chip counts throughout the event and, when heads-up play began, he held a significant chip lead over his opponent, Russian poker pro Timofey Kuznetsov.

Despite Kuznetsov’s best efforts, Koon maintained his lead and eventually sealed the victory when his pocket aces held up against Kuznetsov’s suited connectors. Koon’s win marked his sixth Triton Poker title, cementing his status as one of the best players in the game today.
