The festivities at the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) recent stop at the Paradise City Casino in Incheon, South Korea has recently come to an end. However, there was a lot of exciting poker action that took place before it concluded, including the WPT Korea Main Event which was won by Valeriy Pak of Belarus.
Another major tournament that was played at the WPT Korea was the KRW 15,500,000 (~$14k) buy-in Super High Roller, which was contested over the weekend. The high buy-in meant that only the top pros would register to the tournament and hence we witnessed a small field of just 20 entries.
While the field was small, it was never going to be easy as it meant a lot of money at stake. The player who came out on top of these entries was Malaysia’s Ivan Leow who is slowly but steadily making a huge name for himself in the international live poker circuit, with high-stakes wins all over the world.
He has profitted bucket loads in recent Triton Super High Roller tournaments, including winning the 500k Short Deck Event in Jeju, followed by the Super High Roller tournament victory in Sochi. This of course, to go with plenty of other wins, a majority of which have come in the last year itself.
4th on Malaysia’s all-time earnings list, Leow took home the mega top prize of KRW 132,300,000 (~$118,724) for winning in Korea and he has taken his career live poker winnings past $3.9 million. This would’ve ranked among some of his best performances, beating top Asian names to take down the title.
