IPC Megastacks May 2022 – Dhirendra Kumar Selected as Gutshot Pro

It’s a good time for poker in India right now as we’ve had a few back-to-back live poker series taking place in the country. Now, we have another series lined up from India Poker Championship (IPC) which will be played in Jhapa, Nepal between 17-23 May 2022. The IPC Megastacks May 2022 series is set to be an experience to remember for everyone involved.

It’s just the second time that the brand is hosting an overseas event and there are multiple festivities lined up including a long list of celebrities present at the event, a pool party for the players, massive guaranteed prizes of course, and much more! And to add to the fun, Gutshot Magazine decided to sponsor one player’s buy-ins, flights, and stay for the IPC May 2022 series.

A popular name in the online as well as live circuit, Dhirendra Kumar has been selected as the lucky player who will play for Gutshot over the course of the 7-day live event in Nepal. The action will take place at Casino Vegas in Hotel Mechi Crown (HMC) and Dhiru has all his tournament buy-ins sponsored by Gutshot.

This includes the 25k IPC Kick Off Event, 60k IPC Main Event, 100k IPC High Roller, as well as the 15k IPC Mystery Bounty tournament. The series boasts a total advertised guarantee of 3.5 Crore and we’re sure Dhirendra Kumar is going to be among those who take home some of the top prizes.

For those who don’t know, Dhirendra Kumar plays as ‘dhiru91’ on Spartan Poker and if you’ve played with him on the virtual felts, you know that he’s a talented player. His largest online cash includes the Final Table Series (FTS) Big Game tournament on Spartan, which he shipped for a career best prize of 19.5 Lakh in November 2020.

He’s no rookie on the live felts either, recently ending as the chip leader after Day 1 of the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) 65k High Roller tournament in Goa as well. Just a few days ago, he finished third in a Summer Celebration Series (SCS) 25 Lakh GTD tournament and was also among the leaderboard toppers in that series on Spartan itself.
