IOPC Day 9: Anurag Srivastava Nails Friday Spotlight For 10.3 Lakh


The 13th edition of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) is currently underway on Spartan Poker, BLITZPOKER, and PokerHigh. The action on the online felts are as intense as ever with players flocking the felts to win an IOPC title. The night saw many prominent players putting their best foot forward and shipping titles. Here a lowdown on the action.

IOPC #60 – ₹3.75 Lakh GTD

The day started with IOPC #60 which had a buy-in of ₹660. The event welcomed a total of 663 entries out of which 289 were unique players, 110 were re-entries, and 264 were rebuys. The event surpassed its original guarantee and recorded ₹3,97,800 as the final prize pool. The top 55 places paid, and the min-cash stood at ₹1,949. The tournament ended in a deal and it was three-time leaderboard Bhanu Prakash ‘MafiaGaming’ who grabbed the title and pocketed ₹65,516 in prize money. The runner-up was player Happy Chahal who went home with ₹48,729.

There were 547 total entries made up of 289 unique players, 92 re-entries, and 166 rebuys. In the end, 55 places were paid and the min-cash was ₹4,020. BLITZPOKER player ‘Sammyy’ took home the title and had a payday of ₹1,59,177. Armaan Kochhar aka ‘space ace’ was the runner-up and went home with ₹1,00,921.

The runner-up was Somesh Patel aka ‘JackNotMa’ who went home with ₹61,900.

The runner-up was Ankit Saurabh aka ‘magnum736’ who walked away with ₹87,691.

The ₹990 buy-in event was a multi-entry tournament and had a massive 2,677 entries (1,449 unique entries and 1,228 rebuys) slogging hard for the title. The advertised guarantee of the event was crushed and ₹24,09,300 was recorded as the final prize pool. The top 215 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹2,963. The tournament ended in a deal with Paras Jain aka ‘Jhukega nahi $ala’ taking home the title for ₹3,34,084. Anant Purohit aka ‘Prometheius’ was the runner-up and had a payday of ₹3,31,122.

The Friday Spotlight had a massive ₹55 Lakh guarantee which made it the biggest tournament of the day. The event had a total of 646 entries out of which 315 were unique players, 122 were re-entries, and 209 were rebuys. The ₹11,000 buy-in event crushed its initial guarantee impressively and generated a final prize pool worth ₹64,60,000. The top 63 places were paid and the min-cash was ₹28,101. A deal was struck between Anurag Srivastava aka ‘CultOfPersonality’ and Ujjwal Narwal aka ‘Lord Hendrix.’ The title winner Srivastava took a pay cheque of ₹10,30,371 and Narwal pocketed ₹10,07,758 in prize money.

The All-Rounder event wrapped up the day with its ₹11 Lakh guarantee and ₹1,650 buy-in. The original prize pool was surpassed and the final prize pool of ₹12,34,500 was generated. The tournament had 360 unique entries, 139 re-entries, and 324 rebuys which brought the total number of entries to 823. In the end, 71 places were paid and the min-cash paid was ₹4,691. Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘Captain Falcon’ shipped the event and added ₹2,38,258 in his bankroll. Ankit Bajaj aka ‘ON_MY_MAC’ became the runner-up for ₹1,50,115.
