IOPC Day 12: Ritwik Khanna Takes The Prime Spot For ₹6.74 Lakh 


Even as we enter day 12 of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021, the online felts witnessed an action-packed evening yet again. As the fight to rule the IOPC leaderboard continues to rage, two-time IOPC leaderboard topper, Bhanu Prakash takes the lead once again. Will he be able to pull a hat trick? Only time will tell. For this Thursday, many pros led the way, maintaining high-levels of energy normally seen with mega poker events like this. So, let’s take a look at the night’s big winners.

IOPC #69 – ₹4 Lakh GTD

The first event of the day was the IOPC #69 which had 576 entries in attendance. The tournament surpassed its initial guarantee and it generated a final prize pool of ₹4,70,400. The top 55 entries made it in the money and pocketed a min-cash of ₹1,975. Player Ravi Jain aka ‘Rvjn91’ shipped the tournament and received ₹78,220 in winnings, while ‘madhabpal2017’ was the runner-up of the event and walked away with ₹49,593.

IOPC #70 – ₹6 Lakh GTD

The IOPC #70 event welcomed 413 total entries and even surpassed its advertised guarantee. The final prize pool was ₹6,19,500. After an intense grind, the players who found themselves on the top 31 spots were paid a min-cash of ₹5,451. The tourney was shipped by mystery player ‘s@kuni_m@m@’ for ₹1,31,024. Player called ‘MALIKSAAB’ was the runner-up and took home ₹88,216 in prize money.

IOPC #71 – Monster Stack ₹5.5 Lakh GTD

Keeping their eyes on the prize were the 793 entries who attempted to ship the tournament. Thanks to the entries and the buy-in, the original prize pool was also crushed and the amount moved up to ₹6,34,400. Out of this crowd, top 71 made it in the money and were paid a min-cash of ₹2,410.

Rohit Singh aka ‘Madmoney007’ walked away with the biggest chunk of the prize pool after shipping the tournament for ₹1,01,200. Singh defeated Sankalp Marwah aka ‘wobbegong’ who took the runner-up spot and walked away with ₹78,075.

IOPC #72 – Thursday Prime ₹35 Lakh GTD

The daily IOPC Prime tournaments offer players some of the biggest guarantees. This Thursday Prime tournament was no exception with an advertised prize pool of ₹35 Lakh. The final prize pool stood at ₹35,16,000. A sea of 879 total entries made their way into the tournament. However, only the top 79 entries made the money with each receiving a min-cash of ₹11,945.

Online reg Ritwik Khanna aka ‘Fisherman1997’ was the night’s biggest winner as he added ₹6,74,720 to his bankroll. Khanna defeated Neel Joshi aka ‘Worm33’ for the top spot. Joshi finished second and went home with ₹4,23,326 in winnings.

IOPC #74 – Thursday Spotlight ₹15 Lakh GTD

Another high-value tournament—Thursday Spotlight was promptly flocked by 548 total entries. The initial prize pool was crushed with 47 top entries taking a bite out of it. A min-cash of ₹9,370 was paid to the top 47 players. Pocketing the lion’s share of the prize pool was IOPC January 2021 Main Event winner, Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘LuckyBhai$’ who cashed ₹3,20,415 in prize money. Pro Sumit Sapra ‘AAddicted’ found himself in the runner-up position for ₹2,03,527.

IOPC #75 – All Rounder Monster Stack ₹10 Lakh GTD

The day ended on a high note as the All Rounder Monster Stack event drew the curtains on an exciting day. A total of 607 entries participated in this tourney. The original guarantee of ₹10 Lakh was crushed and the final prize pool stood at ₹12,14,000. The competition was fierce; only the top 47 made it in the money. The min-cash paid was ₹9,370.

Mystery player ‘calm1712’ shipped the event and walked away with ₹2,35,516 in prize money. Player Myanbemo Ovung aka ‘ShootingStar2507’ came in second for ₹1,49,322.
