IOPC Day 1: Armaan Kochhar Nails Thursday Prime For 7.79 Lakh


The 12th edition of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) is finally here! Day 1 of the online poker series saw thousands of players flocking to the virtual felts for a taste of glory. Day 1 had six tournaments and many online regs like Manish Lakhotia, Armaan Kochhar, Yash Chitre shipped titles. Actor, DJ and poker player Siddhanth Kapoor and IOPC July 2021 winner Vaibhav Temani also made the money but did not ship any of the tournaments. This is only a glimpse of the action, for the full report read below.

IOPC #1 – Launch Party ₹12 Lakh GTD

Hitting the pedal to the metal, IOPC #1 Launch Party kick-started the festivities and was immediately flocked with a total of 2,982 entries. The event had a ₹550 buy-in and a ₹12 Lakh guarantee which was crushed at the end. The final prize pool was ₹14,91,000. Players in the top 279 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹1,416.

Yash Chitre

Shipping the first tournament of the series was Yash Chitre aka ‘Babyshark10’ who went home with ₹2,53,023 in prize money. Bollywood actor and poker player Siddhanth Kapoor aka ‘Liu Kang’ finished in the runner-up position for ₹1,40,154.

IOPC #2 – ₹7.5 Lakh GTD

Next was IOPC #2 which had ₹7.5 Lakh as guarantee. The final prize pool crushed the original guarantee and stood at ₹12,82,500. The ₹1,650 buy-in tournament welcomed a total of 855 entries to its field. In the end, the ones who made it to the top 79 places finished in the money. The min-cash given was ₹4,360.

Monday Round Up: Ujjwal Narwal & Vinay Rajpal Taste Victory On The Online Felts

Emerging victorious was online reg Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ who pocketed ₹2,16,572 in winnings. The runner-up was player ‘Hyena_Killer’ who walked away with ₹1,83,953 in prize money.

IOPC #3 – Monster Stack ₹6.5 Lakh GTD

The third event of the day was the IOPC #3 – Monster Stack which had a buy-in of ₹880 and an advertised guarantee of ₹6.5 Lakh. The tournament witnessed 1,454 total entries participate in the event. The final prize pool generated was ₹11,63,200 which crushed the initial guarantee. Players who finished in the top 127 spots were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹2,442.

Wednesday Round Up: Tanmay Benara Takes Home Destiny Title For 5.32 Lakh

Shipping the tournament was poker player Lavesh Meena aka ‘devbhati’ who took home a pay cheque of ₹2,17,286. The runner-up position was taken by online reg Tanmay Benara aka ‘PlusEV’ for ₹1,31,907.

IOPC #4 – Thursday Prime ₹35 Lakh GTD

The biggest tournament of the day was the IOPC Thursday Prime tournament with its huge ₹35 Lakh guarantee. The ₹4,400 buy-in tournament crushed its initial guarantee and the final prize pool was ₹40,68,000. The top 87 places made the money and the min-cash stood at ₹12,610.

Armaan Kochhar - Amit Gehani Beats Top Pros As IOPC Legends Ends In A Deal

The tournament was nailed by online reg Armaan Kochhar aka ‘space ace’ who had a payday of ₹7,79,022. In the runner-up position was IOPC July 2021 Main Event winner Vaibhav Temani aka ‘Lang Syne’ who went home with ₹4,84,906.

IOPC #5 – Thursday Spotlight ₹18 Lakh GTD

Next was the IOPC Thursday Spotlight with its ₹18 Lakh guarantee. The tournament pulled in a total of 842 entries and had a buy-in of ₹3,300. With a final prize pool of ₹25,26,000, this tournament also crushed its original guarantee. The top 79 players made the money, and the min-cash of the event was ₹8,588.

Grabbing the title spot was Aditya Singh aka ‘konstantinn’ who pocketed ₹4,84,739 in prize money. Player ‘TheBeard’ was the runner-up and happily went home with ₹3,04,130 in his pockets.

IOPC #6 – All Rounder ₹12 Lakh GTD

Bringing the day to a close was IOPC All Rounder which had a total of 770 entries and an initial guarantee of ₹12 Lakh. The ₹2,200 buy-in event soon crushed its original guarantee and generated a final prize pool of ₹15,40,000. The top 79 places finished in the money and the min-cash was ₹5,236.

Shipping the tournament was PokerHigh’s Player of the Year 2021 Vaibhav Arora aka ‘Vakeel.sahab’ who grabbed ₹2,95,526 in prize money. The runner-up was player Suraj Todi aka ‘GotNoChange31’ who walked away with ₹1,85,416.
