The Spartan Poker, one of the most prestigious brands in the online poker scenario in this country, hosts regular tournaments, series and other promotional events throughout the year which have become popular amongst the poker community here.
Spartan also features leaderboards to celebrate the poker players who are consistent in their performance throughout the period. Their Lightning Leaderboard is one such event where a player’s performance in tournaments is measured during a period of exactly one month.
The Spartan Poker also hosts the Tournament Weekly Leaderboard (TLB), something that’s long awaited. The leaderboard only takes into account tournaments played in the span of a week, from Monday to Sunday, which also have to have more than INR 1,000 buy-in. It has a guaranteed prize pool of INR 2.5 Lakhs, with the top finisher receiving a hefty INR 1 Lakh pay-out. The top 5 on the leaderboard are paid out, with the last receiving INR 10,000.
The first TLB paid-off its top 5 a couple of days ago. The winner to emerge from the leaderboard was ‘ihatepoker’. The major factor in this win was probably the spectacular 1st place finish at the Sunday’s Big Daddy, taking home INR 1 Lakh as well as a trip package to Goa to play in Spartan’s Live Room. He had fired 3 bullets to win the Big Daddy but it all paid off by a large margin in the end by the two hefty pay-outs he received on Sunday.
Second to finish in TLB was Bhanu Prakash aka ‘spectre’, who took home INR 75,000 in cash. He had also topped the October’s Hot Leaderboard on Spartan, indicating his unfailing perseverance in tournaments. Prakash is not new to shipping Spartan tourney, having won a significant of them in this year. He also won an event in the Indian Online Poker Championships (IOPC) in Jan 2018, setting himself for the incoming hoard of titles.
Third to cash out in TLB was ‘7vik’ who cashed out with INR 40,000. Fourth to finish in TLB with INR 25,000 was the inaugural Lightning Leaderboard winner Rajesh Tallapaneni aka ‘THALAIVA AR’. He had won INR 4 Lakhs for his incredible run throughout the month of November. Tallapaneni, who has been persistent and steady in all tournaments, is gradually rising to the top and it wont surprise us if he ships a few big ones in the coming future.
The last to cash out was the well-known grinder Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ with INR 10,000 in his bag. Coming from his INR 15 Lakhs 2.o.K win on Spartan. The TLB also saw ‘light_house’, the other 2.o.K winner who cashed out INR 15 Lakhs with Ahuja, rank 6th, but without receiving a pay-out.
