IFSG to host 2nd edition of GamePlan in March

Indian Federation of Sports Gaming (IFSG) is a self-regulatory industry body formed in 2017. The body concerns itself with consumer interests and advises best practices in the sports and gaming industry. Last year, IFSG had hosted the inaugural GamePlan 2018, a platform which called upon top industry experts and leading businessmen concerning the gaming scene in India and abroad to discuss the future and growth of fantasy sports in India.

Recently, IFSG announced the 2^nd edition of this event, GamePlan 2019, to be hosted on 4^th March 2019 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Worli, Mumbai. The event will be a day-long one and will include 3 different expert panels. The theme of the event this time is ‘Economy of Sports Gaming’.

The attendees for the event range from different walks of life like sports gaming operators, media publishers, tech providers, finance institutions, sports leagues, media agencies, app developers, tax firms, legal firms, VCs, investors, and a whole bunch of other professions. A new report will also be launched at the event, which will be based around burgeoning online sports gaming industry in India.

Among the 3 panels, the first one will talk discuss the topic of the future of online sports entertainment in India. The panel members will be Vikas Agnihotri from Google India, Kartik Sharma from Wavemaker, Girish Menon from KPMG, Harsh Jain from Dream11 and Gaurav Kapur, actor and TV anchor.

The second panel will tackle growth in the sports gaming ecosystem, with Navdeep Manaktala (AWS), Arvind Iyengar (Sportz Interactive), Punitha Arumugam (Hotstar), Melinda Petrunoff (Facebook) and Aravind Ramachandran (Fantain).

The third and the final panel will be based on the topic ‘Fuelling Sports Fan Engagement’ and includes Ipsita Dasgupta (PKL), Amrit Mathur (IFSG), Akhil Suhag (FanFight), Ricky Thussu (FIH) and Joy Bhattacharjya (PVL) as panel members.

All the attendees of the event will get a chance to interact and network with the key stakeholders of the sports and gaming industry in India. Over 150+ senior delegates are expected to be present at the venue for the event. Industry experts will discuss pertinent and relevant topics concerning the online sports gaming sector and give their two cents on the future of this industry.

The first edition of GamePlan discussed on how the sports gaming industry is poised for phenomenal growth in the near future. Harsh Jain, CEO of Dream11, was present at the first one too, and spoke about these topics along with Ranjan Chatterjee, Chief Secy. of Meghalaya. The inaugural GamePlan also unveiled ‘The Laws Relating to Fantasy Sports Games in India’ a report on the legal landscape of fantasy sports by Sports Law and Policy Centre (SLPC).
