Huge prizes awarded at UmaPoker’s LaunchPad Tournament

One of the latest entrants into the Indian poker scene, UmaPoker, recently hosted the August edition of its LaunchPad Tournament. The tournament has now concluded, and it was a raging success. The one-day event started at 8:00pm IST on 1 Aug 2018 and went on till 12:51am, with some extremely competitive players jostling for the final place.

The tournament attracted a massive field of 348 entries to go with 32 re-buys, with a total of 27 places being paid out a minimum cash prize of INR 12,000. The top prizes decided for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were INR 2,40,000, INR 1,56,000 and INR 1,08,000 respectively.

The race to the finish wasn’t easy. It was full of hurdles, but the best players overcame the obstacles. Vijay Khader topped this vast field and took away the first prize of INR 2.4 lakh. Vaibhav Kumar and Arjun Agarwal finished at 2nd and 3rd place for INR 1.56 lakh and INR 1.08 lakh respectively.

The event was earlier scheduled for 6:30pm IST but was later postponed to 8:00pm. The highlight of the event was a surprise raise in the prize pool by INR 2 lakh at the last moment. It was a slight boost to this already massive prize pool, taking the total prize money to INR 12,00,000. The players couldn’t be happier with the bigger bounty and this also led to increased participation.
