HKPT: Himanshu Chhikara Finishes 2nd In Hong Kong’s Skyline Event


At the ongoing Hong Kong Poker Tour (HKPT) at the Dream Room in the Hoiana Resort and Golf, Vietnam, Indian poker pro Himanshu Chhikara has turned runner-up in the Hong Kong’s Skyline event. This tournament was shipped by a Canadian player named Peter N. Chhikara shared the happy news of him finishing second on his Instagram handle and we are proud of the pro’s accomplishment.

Hong Kong Poker Tour, Vietnam 2023

This series will run from 19th to 28th September at the luxurious property of Hoiana Resort and Golf with players from all over the world marking their attendance. Chhikara made the final table consisting of nine players and managed to turn runner-up at this event. 

Previously, Chhikara had made the final table at the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) 2023 Mini Main Event in Hanoi and struck a three-way deal to end the tourney as runner-up. Another poker pro Jasven Saigal also made the final table.

The VSOP 2023 Hanoi Mini Main Event had a total of 207 entries with 27 making it in the money. The first place finisher took a pay cheque of VND 356,000,000 from a total prize pool of VND 1,440,000,000. 

When it comes to grinding in Asian events, Chhikara struck a deal at the Asia Poker Championship (APC) Monster Stack event and went on to nail the trophy. The VND 8,000,000 + 800,000 event had 80 total entries which offered the winner a payday of close to ₹5 Lakh ($6,001). Vietnamese player Nguyen Duc Phuc was the runner-up for $6,001.

Chhikara also made the final table at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Series Hanoi, Vietnam, Turbo event. This tourney came with a buy-in of USD 645. It would be interesting to see how Chhikara takes his live poker journey ahead in the coming future.
