Hamish Crawshaw leads WPT Vietnam Day 2; 5 Indians progress


The World Poker Tour is shining as never before! After entering the Asia Swing recently, the tournament has discovered a huge number of poker participants from major regions. Currently, we have a stop at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The VND 15 Billion GTD Main Event can now be pronounced as Asia’s richest festival.

The initial flights drew 344 entries with a buy-in of VND 55 million GTD. As the game progressed, another 29 registered to bring the total of 373 entries. Ultimately, the prize pool settled to an ambitious amount of VND 18.9 million creating a new record for the country.

The largest stack of the day belonged to Hamish Crawshaw, a player with $556k total career live earnings and he is set to increase that tally as he leads to Day 3 of the Main Event. Crawshaw bagged 1,281,000 chips.

The Day 2 ME saw only 32 players progressing. Additionally, 5 Indian poker enthusiasts made a mark in WPT Vietnam Day 2, namely Aditya Agarwal climbing up to the 2nd rank and bagging 1,137,000 chips, Jaideep Sajwan with 8,21,000 chips, Rubin Labroo with 544,000 chips, Sumit Sapra with 391,000 chips, and Alok Birewar with 178,000 chips.

WPT Vietnam attracted abundant poker players, creating a massive history or entries and prize pools, the series has now become a major festival. Day 2 also saw several other outstanding players, including Chauve Vincent (935,000), Huynh Duc Tai (927,000), Nguyen Van Dung (766,000), and Hon Cheong Lee (731,000).
