‘grinder1111’ claims SSS Event #17 title

The cash-rich Spartan Super Series (SSS) attracts some of the best poker players across the country, with INR 3.7+ crore being given away in guaranteed prizes in this particular edition. Day 4 of the series began with ‘Namonamah’ shipping the first tournament, while the second tournament kicked off at 4pm on The Spartan Poker.

SSS Event #17 INR 2 Lakh GTD had a buy-in of INR 700 and a total field of 288 entries registered to the tournament. The top 36 places were paid out a minimum cash prize of INR 1,300 and at the end of the tournament, ‘grinder1111’ was the last man standing, taking away the top prize of INR 40,000.

This tournament was a relatively smaller one, with The Flash and the Super High Roller to be played later in the day. Hence, this was a chance for the lesser known players to make a mark as most of the top pros would’ve skipped this one to prepare for the other two tournaments to come.

Judging by the player’s username, grinder1111 seems to be one ready for a long grind and he clearly proved that in this tournament. He faced off against ‘Girafganger8’ in heads-up and created a chip lead of nearly 5:1 by the time the final hand was played. This hand was played in Level #37, when the blinds were at 15,000/30,000 – 3,000.

grinder1111 decided to go all-in with Ah Kc before seeing the flop and his opponent made the call with Kh 7c. The players revealed their cards in the showdown as the board opened Qc Ac 3h 2h Ks and grinder1111 hit a pair of Aces on the flop itself. Girafganger8 hit a pair of Kings on the river, but eventually, grinder1111 won with Aces and Kings, and the former won INR 28,000 for finishing second.
