Global Poker Index (GPI) has announced its Player of the Year (POY) winners across countries and overall rankings. GPI Player Of The Year 2023 for India is the mighty talented Ankit Ahuja. The poker pro who is placed first for India is ranked under top 50 on the global GPI ratings.
Ahuja finished 40th on the global rankings which was topped by Bin Weng and the second position was claimed by Argentinian player Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero.
On the India GPI POY rankings Ahuja sits with 2,963 points and the runner-up spot was taken by high stakes pro Santhosh Suvarna with 2,660 points.

The top 5 players list consist of names like Kartik Ved, Abhinav Iyer and Kunal Patni. The Natural8 India ambassador also shared a post on Instagram stating that he had finished fifth in 2022 as well. The banker turned poker pro further added that he hopes to be in the top 3 in the coming time. The top 10 list of GPI India 2023 has pros like Zarvan Tumboli, Amit Kaushik and Nishant Sharma.

Talking about the GPI India 2023 topper, Ahuja made headlines when he shipped the European Poker Tour (EPT) Cyprus 2023 Eureka Main Event for a sum of $362,365 (~₹3,01,45,325). Ahuja emerged victorious from a massive player field of 2,659.
This poker pro who was previously working for PokerStars has been grinding in live poker events across the world. Be it EPT, World Poker Tour (WSOP) or Asian poker events, Ahuja has marked his attendance and made a splash with his stellar performances.
