Gokul Raj beats Deepak Bothra to Destiny 10.0 title

It has been a long tournament series of 10 weeks as it always is when it comes to the very popular Destiny series on Spartan Poker. Every Wednesday, Destiny INR 20 Lakh GTD is hosted on the platform and after 10 winners are declared, they sit down in a Finale SnG to play for a further prize pool of INR 10 Lakh GTD.

Yesterday was the Finale SnG of Destiny 10.0 and some very good players had reached this SnG which kicked off at 8pm last evening. It wasn’t a very long session of poker as only 10 players were in contention, having each paid INR 1 Lakh towards the prize pool from their Destiny winnings.

Here, the top three were to be paid and after a little over 4 hours since the tournament began, we had a winner in Gokul Raj aka ‘Super Kings’. A regular tournament player on Spartan Poker, Raj was the tenth and final player to book a spot into the Finale, winning Destiny just a few days back.

Here, Nishant Sharma aka ‘FunkyouFTW1’ was the first player to hit the rail while Ankur Sehgal aka ‘Crimemastergogo’ followed him soon later in 9th place. Just the top 3 were to be paid and the player who managed to finish in 3rd place was ‘Jai Bajarangbali’ who preferred to stay anonymous. He bagged INR 2,00,000 for finishing in third place.

After that, it was Gokul Raj against Deepak Bothra aka ‘chimpoo’ in heads-up, the latter known for many online poker titles over the years, including many live poker achievements too. However, he wasn’t able to bag another title last night, finishing runner-up to Raj and taking away INR 3,00,000 in prize money for this effort. As for Raj, he pocketed INR 5,00,000 in prize money for winning Destiny 10.0!
