Garena Announces Free Fire Pro Series 2021 Summer


Garena successfully concluded its Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2021. The event made history by breaking all viewership records for an esports tournament. And the developer has already announced another exciting Free Fire tournament in the coming months.

In the wake of FFWS, Garena announced its first ever Free Fire Pro League (FFPL) 2021 Summer. The tournament will provide an exclusive opportunity for the teams from India and Nepal to establish themselves. The top 18 teams from the two countries will compete remotely to win from a massive prize pool of ₹35 lakh.

The 18 teams will include the top 12 teams (survivors) seeded from the Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) 2021 Spring and six teams will be selected from Free Fire Cup (FFC). Earlier, the teams from India and Nepal were unable to participate in the FFWS 2021 held in Singapore due to COVID-related travel restrictions.

The 12 teams are Red Owl Gaming, Team Elite, Sixth Sense, Last Breath, S8UL, Captains, Team D Esports, LVL – Iconic, Survivor 4 AM, AFF Esports, Total Gaming and Galaxy Racer. The remaining six spots will be filled in by teams battling it out in the FFC mode.

The survivors can register in-game from June 1st to June 4th to compete in the FFPL 2021. The FFC match will take place on June 4th, 2021.

According to App Annie, Free Fire has been the most downloaded game globally for the past two years (2019 and 2020). The game has also become increasingly popular in India and Nepal along with the rest of the world.

The 18 teams will be competing across six days starting June 2th to July 11th, 2021. All the matches will be played in Battle Royale Squad mode. The top two teams will proceed to the Grand Finals which will take place on July 18th, 2021.

The schedule will be as follows:

  • Match Day 1 – 26 June
  • Match Day 2 – 27 June
  • Match Day 3 – 3 July
  • Match Day 4 – 4 July
  • Match Day 5 – 10 July
  • Match Day 6 – 11 July
  • Grand Finals – 18 July

The top six teams from the FFPL 2021 Summer will directly proceed to the Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) 2021 Fall. The teams who rank from position seven to twelve will get a chance to battle out in the closed qualifiers of FFIC 2021 Fall.
