Phoenix Force Wins Free Fire World Series 2021; Event Creates Highest Viewership Record


Garena’s Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2021 held in Singapore created history in the world of esports by setting a global viewership record. The final event saw Thailand’s Phoenix Force emerge victorious by winning a prize pool of a whopping $5,00,000 ( ₹3.6 crore).

The final event of the tournament witnessed a total of 5.4 million concurrent viewers, excluding Chinese platforms. The Hindi broadcast gathered record views for any esports broadcast on YouTube. According to Esports Charts, it received 1.9 million concurrent viewers. The Free Fire esports event also completed 18+ million watch hours in the stream.

The record was held by Riot Games’ League of Legends which had 3.9 million viewers during League of Legends Worlds in 2019. FFWS 2021 held on May 30th, 2021 surpassed that to acquire a viewership of 5.4 million worldwide.

At the final event of the FFWS 2021, Phoenix Force from Thailand were crowned champions. The team claimed four Booyahs from the six matches and scored 113 points with 48 kills. The Thailand team won a prize money of $5,00,000. FFWS 2021 Singapore saw 18 teams from 11 regions competing for the title. The tournament featured a prize pool of $20,00,000 which was the highest for a Free Fire tournament.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was given to team Phoenix Force’s TheCruz. His consistent performance throughout the FFWS 2021 tournament and 23 kills helped him claim the title. 

The overall standings and the prize pool distribution at the FFWS 2021 Singapore were as follows:

  • 1st Place – Phoenix Force – 113 Points ($5,00,000)
  • 2nd Place – LOUD – 77 Points ($2,50,000)
  • 3rd Place – Silence – 73 Points ($1,00,000)
  • 4th Place – Fluxo – 59 Points ($1,00,000)
  • 5th Place – HQ Esports – 55 Points ($90,000)
  • 6th Place – Burst The Sky – 41 Points ($90,000)
  • 7th Place – Team AZE – 37 Points ($80,000)
  • 8th Place – EVOS Divine – 34 Points ($80,000)
  • 9th Place – Geek Fam – 27 Points ($70,000)
  • 10th Place – VIP E-Sport – 27 Points ($70,000)
  • 11th Place – First Raiders – 27 Points ($60,000)
  • 12th Place – GODDESS – 14 Points ($60,000)
