The much-awaited game FAU-G was looking forward to make its mark in the Indian gaming scene but since its release the ratings for this highly anticipated game has dropped considerably. FAU-G released on January 26, the game was believed to be a PUBG alternative by many fans. Even though developers nCore Games insisted that they had no intention of competing in the battle royale space.
During its release, the game had 4.5-stars on Google Play Store but as the days progressed the ratings started dropping. There were mixed reviews on the game with some users claiming that the game had great visuals and was exceptional. However, other users stated that the game was a big disappointment as it did not meet many expectations. One comment stated that the game did not have guns and even if it were only a hand to hand combat it still could have been better than its current format.

Another possible reason for the game’s poor performance could be the hype that it generated which led to high expectations among gamers. Even though the developers clearly stated the game was not aiming to be a PUBG replacement and was more of an action game which focuses on a storyline. According to some news reports, PUBG fans even gave the app a one-star rating on Google Play Store. The app’s current rating on the store is 3.5 stars.

PUBG had been banned from India since September 2020, following security concerns over Chinese owned apps. Since PUBG was one of the most popular game in the Indian gaming scene, its exit left a huge void in the gaming market which many hoped that FAU-G would be able to fill. But all hope is not lost, as the developers have promised that future updates will bring more action to the table, including weapons and even have a battle royale game. Perhaps fans could give this homegrown game another chance?
