Gambit Esports Excludes ‘iLTW’ and ‘G’ From Dota 2 Champions League Roster

Esports organization, Gambit Esports, have announced a change in their Dota 2 roster for the upcoming Dota 2 Champions League. Two team members, Igor ‘iLTW’ Filatov and Sergie ‘G’ Bragin will not be playing in the Champions League this time. While the rest of the team remains the same.

The change was made just before the event which began on 19 July. The first team to go head-to-head were ASM Gambit and Spider Pigzs. The esports community was surprised at the sudden change in the roster as Filatov was brought in after ASM Gambit shifted mid-laner Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar to the in-active roster. While the ASM Gambit did list Filatov as a stand-in player in the Dota 2 roster, it is not clear if the change made will be permanent.

The removal of Filatov from the Dota 2 roster could be because of his lackluster performance which did not suit team Nigma. The team had included Filatov in order to complete its roster for Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season, WePlay AniMajor, and regional qualifiers.

He replaced Omar, after Omar had a disappointing performance at the Dota 2 Singapore Major. Earlier, Filatov used to play for esports organizations like Virtus.Pro in August 2020 and OG in 2019. His good performances attracted a lot of eyeballs to the esports community.

However, despite being welcomed into team Nigma, Filatov did not fit in with the rest of the members as Amer ‘Miracle’ Al-Barkawi and Ivan ‘MinD_ContRol’ Ivanov are farm intensive cores. Bragin, the other player to be pushed out from the roster, was last seen playing for team EXTREMUM as a mid-laner.

Bragin holds the record for the highest number of creep last hits in a single game of Dota 2. A feat he achieved in the International 2017: CIS Qualifiers while playing his signature Queen of Pain against team Empire.
