Samurai Esports To Participate In Valorant Invitational Cup


Mumbai-based Samurai Esports will be participating in the Valorant Invitational Cup. This company was founded in 2020 has raked ₹1 million in prize money. The brand has received ₹5 million in brand deals in the past four months. Along with Samurai Esports, Velocity Gaming, Enigma Gaming, Team T69, Team Kuch Bhi, Truerippers Esports, Team Fangs, and Team Valor will be participating in the Valorant Invitation cup series. 

Samurai esports was founded with the vision of creating successful teams across gaming formats. The online gaming industry has had a relatively slow start in India but it received a tremendous boost because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the global esports landscape, India ranks 16th with annual revenue of an estimated ₹1.17 billion when compared to the industry size in countries like China, the US, Korea, Japan, etc. Looking at India’s demographics, a large chunk of the population is young which is the segment targeted by esports brands.

Atif Kazi, founder of Samurai esports mentioned, “The team comprises excellent gamers and have performed beyond expectations. We are extremely confident to improve its performance and triumph with even better results in the upcoming tournaments.”

Esports players include Shobith Rai aka TbOne, Kaashvi Hiranandani aka Kaash, Nishaant Williams aka Willy, Mahek Syed aka Mizo, Karan Mhaswadhkar aka Excali, and Simar Sethi aka Psy. The team of Samurai esports had emerged as the winner in the SKWAD Valorant Open, Lenovo Intel Valorant Open, and Gameon Valorant Tournament, and Esportz Premier Series Qualifier #3. 

The team also secured the second position in the Rooter Rise of Legends Tri-Nation Tournament involving India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Yuvin Community Cup Season 3, and SKWAD Invitational Season 2. 

Samurai esports had also finished third in the Lethal Esports Invitational Season 1, Lethan Esports Invitational Season 1, and AORUS X AMD Pro Series Valorant. These performances by Samurai esports have placed the team in the top three earners among gaming companies in India.
