When asked about his goal to become a professional poker player, Neymar said, “It is true that I love to play poker. I feel very comfortable playing the game and I think that after playing football, I will be entirely capable of grinding and traveling for tournaments. I have always wanted to participate in poker tournaments, and I could not do so because of my career.”
He further added, “When I finish my career as a football player, poker is one of the things I am surely going to do. Both need a lot of focus. I believe that one of the most important things in football is that I can read the game, the pitch, and the opponents. In poker, it is the same as you have to read the game, opponents and know when is the right time to attack your opponent.”
