Estrellas Poker Tour ME 2023: Ankit Ahuja Takes The 5th Spot


Update: Ankit Ahuja busted on the fifth position for a payday of €177,810. Lucien Cohen won the tournament for €676,230.

It was a small blind vs button scenario when Ahuja (A 6 ) pushed most of his remaining chips in the middle when he bet 11,500,000. Lucien Cohen (pocket sevens) also known as ‘Ratman’ called from small blind position. The dealer fanned out K J Q . This kept the French player ahead. The turn and river of 2 and J did not help the Indian and his rival sailed through with his two pairs. Cohen did make a getsure of shooting a gun a Ahuja when the river card was revealed. Ankit Ahuja’s progress in the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour  (ESPT) Main Event 2023 has been spectacular. The poker pro has reached the final table of the coveted event. He ended Day 4 of the tournament with the fourth highest stack of 32,200,000 chips. 

Day 4 ended with French player Lucien Cohen bagging the chip lead with 65,500,000 in his kitty to battle it out on Day 5. Two final table contenders were also eliminated. 

Parker Talbot from Canada took home €105,590 for finishing seventh. Israel’s Igor Kaufman added €81,230 to his bankroll for his eighth place finish in the €1,100 ESPT Main Event 2023.

Coming to Ahuja’s journey in the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event 2023, he qualified to Day 2 via starting flight Day 1D. Apart from Ahuja, Apoorva Goel grinding in this event. But this player busted on Day 1C. The European Poker Tour (EPT) 2023 also has other players like Paawan Bansal, Jagdeep Singh, Apoorva Goel grinding in the event. It would be interesting to see how these pros spin the games in their favour to make a splash at the prestigious live poker series. 

So far, Ahuja has managed to grab headlines with his incredible gameplay. Previously, it was Nikita Luther who had made heads turn with her gameplay. The female poker pro finished 16th for a payday of €27,930 (approximately ₹22,82,458) at the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event in August 2022. 

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner had also made it to Day 2 of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. But she was eliminated on Level 13 and couldn’t progress further. 

When it comes to Ahuja we hope this poker player ships the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event 2023 to bring home glory.
