India’s only female World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Nikita Luther has successfully unlocked another achievement in her poker career. The Spartan Poker pro who is currently in Barcelona to grind at the European Poker Tour (EPT) 2022 Barcelona.
After an impressive deep run in the event, Luther finished at the 16th spot at the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Main Event, which was a part of the PokerStars EPT 2022 schedule. She bagged €27,930 (approximately ₹22,82,458) for her 16th place finish.
In her final hand, which was a double elimination, Bulgaria’s Ivan Zhechev bet 5,300,000 chips from the early position, with only 50,000 chips left in hand. Ukraine-based player Renat Bohdanov called the bet from the hijack and was followed by Luther making an all-in call with her 4,750,000 chips from the big blind.
The board fanned out 8 ❤ 4 ❤ 4 ♦ on the flop, and Zhechev check-called his remaining stack. Luther flipped Fish Hooks, Zhechev showed A ♠ Q ♠, and Bohdanov showed Cowboys. The turn and river did no good and Luther, the last woman standing, was eliminated at the 16th spot for her shorter stack, while Zhechev finished 15th for a sum of €32,120.
The event registered a record-breaking entry field of 6,313 players and a prize pool of €6,060,480. Currently, the event has its final table of the top nine players set with WSOP bracelet winner United Kingdom’s Jack Sinclair leading the pack with 43,400,000 chips (72 big blinds). The remaining nine will now return to play Day 4 on Sunday, at Level 37 at blinds of 300,000/600,000/600,000. The winner will take home the title with a top prize of €600,000 and the ESPT trophy.
Luther had earlier shared with Gutshot Magazine that next, she will be playing at the €550 ESPT Cup from 12th to 14th August. She also plans to grind at the €5,300 buy-in EPT Barcelona 2022 Main Event between 15th to 21st August 2022.
