Elio Fox wins SHRPO $50k Super High Roller

It has been a brilliant year for US poker player Elio Fox thus far. He first came into the limelight when he shipped Event #2 of the 2018 WSOP series for $393k. He then went on to better that achievement by finishing 2nd in the High Roller Event, for his second-best live cash of $1,798,658.

He cashed out a few times after that at the 2018 WSOP, but also shipped a couple of side events at the Aria while in Las Vegas and then a WPT Gardens victory for $225k. This year has been brilliant for him and he’s gone on to improve it yesterday by shipping the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $50,000 Super High Roller for $500,000.

This win was the latest of many for him and he will be one to watch out for in major poker tournaments throughout the year. He has taken his live poker winnings past the $7 million mark, with over $4 million of that coming this year itself. Of course, he hasn’t had a year as good as Justin Bonomo, but this is still a fantastic run that he’s on.

He beat seasoned poker pro Dan Shak in heads-up, a 59-year old pro who has over $9.5 million in live cashes. Shak went all-in when the board opened K K 10 J, with J 3. However, the river card didn’t help him as Fox hit a straight and went on to take down the title, while Shak settled for the runners-up prize of $305k.

Official final table results:

  1. Elio Fox – $500,000
  2. Dan Shak – $305,000
  3. Giuseppe Iadisernia – $190,000
  4. Ali Imsirovic – $130,000
  5. Chris Hunichen – $100,000
