Duan Chao leads Poker King Cup High Roller Day 1

The much-awaited 2018 Poker King Cup kicked off yesterday at the world-famous Venetian Macau, in a series that will see ten events played out between 20-25 September 2018. One of the highlight events for this series was the HKD 80,000 High Roller and that was one of the first to begin in the series.

The HKD 80,000 High Roller Event attracted a total of 54 entries by the end of play on Day 1 and the late registration period will continue for a while on Day 2 as well. From the entries that registered on the first day of play, 36 survived and bagged their chips to return on Day 2 and compete for the top prize.

China’s Duan Chao is in the chip lead from among these 36, where all the top seven are from China too. From among the global pros in the event, Spain’s Sergio Aido has the largest chip stack, currently 9th in the chip lead. He has 95,200 in chips as compared to Chao’s 181,500 chips.

Nine levels were played on the opening day and Day 2 has just kicked off at The Venetian. Trailing Chao in the chip lead is Mingqin Liu with 160,300 chips. Late registration and re-entry will be open until Level 13 of the tournament. Top 10 chip counts at the end of Day 1:
