Leaderboards are like a litmus test to gauge how good a player really is. In leaderboards, a player’s entire history for the duration of the series is taken into account. The random luck factors which work for a one-time win obviously don’t work for leaderboards and hence, players who win these leaderboards are generally top talents and experienced grinders of the community.
Spartan Poker was hosting this month’s Spartan Super Series (SSS), a high-stakes series with INR 3.5+ Crore GTD. The field this time was filled with the cream of the crop and budding poker enthusiasts alike. The series awarded huge cash prizes and the player to win the Main Event, Rajesh Singh, earned his best online cash till date.
The SSS Leaderboard was also ranking players according to the points earned side-by-side to the actual tournaments. Many of the tops pros who contested in the series were focussed on winning the leaderboard because it comes with a prestige of a different kind than winning a tournament. They were aiming for the parrot’s eye from afar like Arjuna, but it was ‘Drifter2’ who denied them all the prestige, himself topping it for a cool INR 2,50,000 on Spartan.
Drifter2 has played so well this time that there’s no chance he’s a newbie. He won only one title in the present edition, the SSS #12 Hi-Fi INR 3.5 Lakhs GTD on Day 2, but has ran deep in almost all the events and finished runner-up in SSS #46 Sunday Prime. He shipped the Leaderboard with 4,510 points and beat ‘StoneAK47’ at 2nd place who had accumulated 4,088 points. The latter earned INR 1,00,000.
Other winners of the Leaderboard on Spartan include ‘brocklesnar95’ at 3rd place for INR 75k with 3,518 points. Nayhaal Agarwal aka ‘PantherPaw’ for INR 50,000 with 3,217 points. Agarwal made record 3 title wins in this edition. ‘M@neyM@ker’ for INR 25,000 at 5th place with 3,161 points.
Last SSS Leaderboard winner Zarvan Tumboli aka ‘BolAuntyAuKya’ also ranked in the top 10 of the leaderboard but didn’t receive a pay-check as only the top 5 were paid. Joining him was Ashish Kaushik aka ‘mmonas’ at 10th place but without a cash prize.
