DPT April 2022: 5 Poker Players To Watch Out

Excitement fills the air as the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) April 2022 has begun! For six glorious days from 14th to 19th April, poker players will be treated to yet another spectacular live event. Armed with a mega guarantee of ₹2 Crore, DPT April 2022 is powered by Adda52 and will be an exciting poker festival worth the hype. 

With so many top pros ready to grind on the live felts, many will be on the lookout for poker players with the potential to take home winning titles. While we can’t predict who will win, we can list down poker players who have the potential to emerge victorious based on their previous live tournament performances. We’ve chosen the list based on players who have live poker experience (domestic events). Check out the list below.

1. Ashish Ahuja

Veteran pro, Ashish Ahuja has been playing on the live felts since he was first introduced to the game. This online reg has been a regular presence at the previous DPT editions. Back in 2018, he shipped the DPT Event #5: No-Limit Bounty for over ₹3 Lakh and even finished as a runner-up in DPT 2019 High Roller event for over ₹18 Lakh. With an impressive record at the live poker events, Ahuja is a player to watch out for.

2. Rubin Labroo

This poker pro has quite the resume. One of his early live poker titles came from DPT in April 2017. Here the pro shipped the No-Limit Hold’em Kick Off for over ₹8 Lakh. Rubin Labroo, who was Gutshot Magazine’s July 2020 cover star also cashed at four DPT events in the past. Apart from this, the talented player has also shipped the India Poker Championship (IPC) Main Event in January 2020. Will Labroo clinch yet another live poker title? Well, we’ll just have to wait and watch.

3. Vaibhav Sharma

Many will recognize Vaibhav Sharma from his online tournament victories. Being an online reg, Sharma has definitely shown he can play a good game when given the chance. However, he is also well-versed in live tournaments. Sharma has played quite a few live events over the years. He had two finishes in the 3rd position at the DPT events and will be looking to finally clinch the top title this year. So, keep a close eye on this player, he may just nail it.

4. Aditya Sushant

Aditya Sushant is a player who needs no introduction. As India’s first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, he is a respected pro in the country and many will keep an eye on this player at DPT. Sushant has many live titles to his credit and will be bringing his A-game to the series. He also recently finished in the runner-up spot at the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) March 2022 Main Event and will be looking to make his mark in DPT as well.

5. Gaurav Sood

Gaurav Sood’s DPT resume may not be as power-packed but he has considerable experience of grinding on the live felts. Sood is a regular on the virtual felts and will bring his poker acumen to the live felts without a doubt. More recently, Sood shipped the BPT March 2022 Kick-off event for ₹10.17 Lakh. This Dentist turned poker pro participated in DPT August 2019 and looks pretty hungry to boost his live poker experience. Make sure you have your eyes on Sood as he will look to grab this coveted title.
